Woodfield Creek
Woodfield Creek is the newest apartment complex in Wake Forest, finished in 2021, with 296 units, a saltwater pool and a coworking lounge. Rent runs about $1,500 to $2,400 a month depending on the floor plan. The detail residents bring up first is the trail link. A path off the property connects to the town greenway, so you can leave on foot and be walking or riding within a couple of minutes.
Nothing here is for sale, so there are no HOA dues, no assessment and no yard of your own to keep up. What you pay each month covers the apartment, the amenities and the maintenance, which is the arrangement most people are looking for when they rent.
Where it is
The entrance is on Rogers Road, next to Holding Village. For a commute, US-1 is the road that matters. It carries the Capital Boulevard name through this area, and it is how people here drive south toward Raleigh. Downtown Wake Forest is a short drive from the complex rather than a walk, so plan on the car for a meal or an errand in that direction. The greenway is the exception. The connection at the back of the property means you can cover real distance on foot or by bike without getting on a road at all, which is not something most apartments in town can say.
What to know if you're moving here
Renting here means a young building and none of the ownership costs, and the trade shows up in the monthly number. Here is what to weigh before you sign a lease.
- The 2021 build year keeps the roofs, kitchens and mechanical systems young, so a summer spent waiting on a repair is less likely here.
- Schools are the Wake Forest schools at all three levels, Wake Forest Elementary, Wake Forest Middle and Wake Forest High.
- Assignments do change, so check the current map before you sign a lease.
- The honest drawback is the price, because Woodfield Creek asks at the top of the local range as the newest thing in town.
- At $2,400 a month for a larger unit you are paying new-build rent while building no equity.
- The amenities are shared across 296 units, which you notice at the pool on a hot Saturday.
What to do if you're visiting
The greenway is what this location is for, and the trail plus one stop in town is the whole visit. If you only have an hour, you can do it without moving the car twice.
- Start with the greenway, because from the trail you can see a good stretch of town without driving any of it.
- When you want to eat, Il Bacio Italian Grill & Pizza is the sit-down option.
- In summer, the stop people make afterward is Lumpy's Ice Cream.
- For the faster version of the same errand, Culver's Wake Forest is the one to pull into.
- For anything on the arts side, Arts Wake Forest is worth a look before you plan the day.
