Magpie and Crow

About

A retro video game and collectibles shop on Wait Avenue in downtown Wake Forest, opened in September 2023 by co-owners Alec Featherstone and Adele Edwards. The shelves run from Sega Master System through Super Nintendo and PlayStation 1, plus comics, trading cards, tabletop games, cassettes, CDs, VHS, manga and anime.

Stock is sourced and curated by the owners rather than bulk-ordered, so the inventory turns over constantly. Arcade cabinets on the floor double as donation boxes for local nonprofits, and the shop hosts game tournaments, Dungeons & Dragons sessions and a rotating monthly display for local artists.
