Jose and Sons

Jose and Sons is a Mexican restaurant on Pleasant Valley Road in Raleigh, where the family’s Mexican roots meet the Southern cooking of the neighborhood around it. The kitchen calls the result comfort food, and that description fits. Both traditions show up on the same menu.

The address has a long history with the family. In 1995 their father, Jose Ibarra, opened his third Raleigh El Rodeo on this same spot in west Raleigh, and the sons have since made the room their own under a new name.
