Baker Roofing Company

Baker Roofing is a commercial roofing contractor with an office on Regency Parkway in Cary and headquarters in Raleigh. The company has been keeping commercial buildings dry since 1915, and it works across the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic. It is one of the larger commercial roofing outfits in the country today.

William Prentiss Baker opened the first shop on Gale Street in downtown Raleigh. He had ridden a mule up from Harnett County as a teenager, and the promise he made then still shapes the work, in the company’s telling.

What to know

• In July 2025 the company became 100 percent employee-owned, so everyone on the team is an owner.
• Always Good Work is the phrase the company uses to describe its standard.
• A blog covers practical roofing questions, from weep holes to roof coping.
• Crews and locations have grown well beyond that original Raleigh shop.
