Trattoria Franko is open at Cobblestone Village in Rolesville

Trattoria Franko, the Italian restaurant from the group behind Franko’s Italian Steakhouse in Franklinton, is open at 205 Basalt Place in Cobblestone Village in Rolesville. The restaurant serves dinner daily from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. and takes reservations through OpenTable, according to its website, which lists the phone number as (919) 263-8814.

The opening has not made the town’s own list. The Town of Rolesville’s downtown business page still had Trattoria Franko under “What’s Coming to Rolesville” on September 25, 2026, and its list of open Cobblestone Village businesses does not include it. Triangle Food Blog reported on June 12, 2026, that the restaurant was in soft-open mode.

A year and a half from announcement to opening

Plans for the restaurant surfaced on February 7, 2025, when What Now Raleigh reported that partners Justin Bee, Nunzio Scordo and Keith LoGrande had taken a space in Cobblestone Village. “We want to open an approachable Italian joint,” Bee told the outlet, and he put the opening eight to nine months out, pending permits. That would have been fall 2025.

The date slipped twice. WRAL’s Foodie News column on January 9, 2026 said the group expected Trattoria Franko to open in spring 2026. On June 5, 2026, the same column reported that the restaurant was less than a week from opening at 205 Basalt Place, and Triangle Food Blog had it in soft-open mode on June 12. Neither the restaurant nor the group has published a formal opening date.

House-made pasta and Roman flatbreads

The restaurant’s website describes the menu as Roman classics and homemade Italian dishes, with pasta made in house. Pasta plates run from $21 to $28 and include:

• Cavatelli pomodoro with burrata and San Marzano tomatoes is $21.
• Carbonara with spaghettoni, smoked pancetta, egg yolk and pecorino is $21.
• Rigatoni alla vodka is $22.
• Sunday gravy rigatoni, with braised pork, beef, meatballs and sausage in an all-day sauce, is $26.
• Lasagne, listed at 50 layers with Bolognese, ricotta, mozzarella and parmesan, is $28.
• Ricotta gnocchi in parmesan truffle cream with wild mushrooms is $28.
• Spaghettoni alle vongole with littleneck clams and smoked pancetta is $28.

Antipasti include house-made focaccia with whipped ricotta for $8, Franko’s Famous Meatballs for $16, arancini filled with Bolognese for $14 and a fritto misto of calamari, shrimp, zucchini and fennel for $21. Five Roman flatbreads are priced from $18 to $20, among them a pepperoni flatbread with hot honey and a fig and goat cheese flatbread. Larger plates are a chicken parmesan topped with rigatoni alla vodka and burrata for $28, a boneless pork chop for $26, grilled salmon for $36, a breaded veal chop scarpariello for $55 and a prime ribeye for $59. Desserts are Sicilian cannoli, lemon olive oil cake and pistachio tiramisu.

The drink list is built around Italian wine, with bottles from Piedmont, Tuscany, Veneto, Sicily and Abruzzo, according to the menu on the restaurant’s website. Aperol and Hugo spritzes and a Negroni are $13 to $14, house-made lemon, lime and orange cellos are $9 each, and Peroni is among the beers.

What else is open at Cobblestone Village

Cobblestone Village is the mixed-use development off South Main Street in Rolesville. The town’s downtown page lists eight businesses open there:

• Local Charm Boutique sells women’s clothing and gifts.
• Artisan Beer & Cheese is a beer and cheese shop.
• Pixels Bar + Arcade is a bar with arcade games.
• Woof Gang Bakery & Grooming grooms dogs and sells treats on Basalt Place.
• Anytime Fitness at 201 Basalt Place, Suite A, gives members 24-hour access, according to its website.
• Health House at 101 Rolesville Center Road, Suite 131, runs fitness classes and recovery services such as a sauna and cold plunge, per its website.
• Mezcalito Grill & Tequila Bar at 130 Bluestone Crossing Road is the Mexican chain’s ninth North Carolina location, according to its website.
• Jeff’s Bagel Run, the bagel and coffee chain, is also on the town’s open list.

The fourth restaurant for Franko’s Hospitality

Trattoria Franko joins three other restaurants under Franko’s Hospitality, the group Bee, Scordo and LoGrande run:

• The group’s Franko’s Italian Steakhouse at 27 South Main Street in Franklinton pairs an Italian menu with USDA Prime steaks and serves dinner Tuesday through Thursday from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m., according to its website.
• Its seafood restaurant, Atlantic Prime Coastal Kitchen, is at 20 Main Street in Franklinton and keeps the same Tuesday through Saturday dinner hours, per its website.
• The steakhouse Franko’s Prime at 8460 Honeycutt Road, Suite 112, in Lafayette Village in north Raleigh is open Sunday through Thursday from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m., according to its website.

WRAL reported in January 2026 that Franko’s Prime was taking over the former Driftwood Cantina space in Lafayette Village and that Joe Farrell and Steven Hayes had joined Bee, Scordo and LoGrande as partners there. The dish that ties the restaurants together is the meatball: Franko’s Famous Meatballs, ground in house and served with San Marzano tomato sauce and whipped ricotta, are $16 on the menus of both Franko’s Prime and Trattoria Franko.
