Best florists in Wake Forest

Wake Forest Florist has sat at the south end of the White Street historic district since 1964 and calls itself "the original florist of Wake Forest." It belongs to the Teleflora network, and its About page lists N.C. State Fair floral design ribbons from 1999 through 2016. Garden of Eden Florist on South Main Street is the only other year-round flower shop inside town limits.

The rest of the list reaches into the towns readers already drive to: Heritage Flowers in downtown Youngsville, Flower Creations in Rolesville, two shops in Wendell, and North Raleigh Florist, now at a Capital Boulevard address its own site calls temporary. A Wake Forest flower farm and two by-appointment studios round out the ten, and none of those three has a storefront.

Use the list by need. A same-day hospital or sympathy order wants a shop with a published cutoff; a wedding or a grown-here bouquet points to the studios and the farm. Each entry says what could not be confirmed.

How we chose

Wake Forest came first. Only two year-round retail florists sit inside town limits since The Purple Poppy closed, so the list adds shops in Rolesville, Youngsville, Wendell and Raleigh that deliver into town. Heritage Flowers counts as Youngsville because it moved from South White Street and now prints a Weathers Street address. Each business had to show a dated sign of being open as of September 2026, and facts come from its own site. Awards appear only when named and dated; no Wake Weekly result could be verified, so none is claimed.

Grocery floral counters, order-gatherer sites, garden centers and closed shops were left out. Entries are alphabetical, not ranked. Hours and prices were last checked in September 2026; call ahead for anything an entry says is unconfirmed.

Balloons, Flowers and Gifts

The second Wendell entry, on NC 97 outside downtown, and the thinnest file on this list. The shop's own site bills it as a Raleigh-area florist and asks for 24 hours' notice on orders, which rules it out for last-minute needs. No owner, no founding year and no dated 2026 activity turned up beyond a live Flower Shop Network storefront, so call before counting on it.

Why we chose them

  • Orders need 24 hours' notice, per the contact page.
  • Saturday hours run 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and no Sunday hours are listed.
  • The shop runs on a Flower Shop Network storefront, which was the only 2026 signal found.

Address: Wendell — 2618 NC 97

Birdhouse Blooms

A farmer-florist, and the only Wake Forest flower business growing its own stems. Terren, the owner, whose surname is not published, runs a small farm near Town Hall and sells through a bouquet bar inside The Cotton Company on South White Street, plus delivery within 40 miles. No shop of its own, no published phone and no walk-up farm address; email is the way to order. The growing season runs March through the end of September, so winter orders depend on what the site shows. No dated 2026 content was found, so confirm before ordering.

Why we chose them

  • Stems are grown without pesticides or chemical inputs, per the site, with the balance sourced from Piedmont Wholesale Flowers.
  • A Garden Bouquet in a jar with a handwritten card, delivered, is $99.
  • Bouquet subscriptions are sold through the Cotton Company bouquet bar.
  • The site calls it a "small, female-owned business".

Address: Wake Forest — bouquet bar inside The Cotton Company, 306 S. White St.

Design by Elisa

A by-appointment floral design studio styled DesignbyElisa on its own site. WeddingWire places it in the Heritage area of Wake Forest; the site itself says the studio is in Raleigh and serves North Carolina. Elisa, whose surname is not published, also runs public floral design workshops and mobile floral-art events, and sells art prints and home decor. WeddingWire credits her with more than 25 years of floral design on the East Coast.

Why we chose them

  • WeddingWire lists bridal bouquets at about $150, bridesmaid bouquets at $75 and centerpieces from $75 to $150.

  • The wedding consultation is free, and everything is by appointment.

Address: Wake Forest — Heritage area studio, by appointment

Falls Lake Florist

A home-based studio in the Falls of Neuse corridor of north Raleigh, ZIP 27614, with no walk-in shop; call before heading over. Owner Jan McLean makes everything to order, and the site calls the business an exclusive wedding shop with ceremony, reception and prom flowers alongside sympathy pieces and gift items. The newest dated review on its own site is from May 2025, so call before ordering.

Why we chose them

  • Everything is made to order, per the site, with no stock arrangements.
  • Open Saturdays 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and closed Sunday, per the site.
  • Delivers to hospitals and funeral homes in Raleigh, per Yellow Pages.
  • Yellow Pages puts it at 24 years in business, a claim the site does not repeat.

Address: Raleigh — Falls of Neuse area, home studio, by appointment

Flower Creations

Rolesville's only retail florist, in a suite in the small Southtown Circle strip off South Main Street. The shop is a locally owned, family-run business; its WeddingWire profile says it opened in 2011 and that the current owner, Heather, took over in 2016, though her surname is not published. Fresh arrangements, sympathy pieces, plants, dish gardens and gift baskets make up the shop, and the wedding page is booking dates through 2028. Delivery covers Rolesville, Wake Forest, Youngsville, Wendell, Knightdale, Zebulon, Bunn, Louisburg and Raleigh.

Why we chose them

  • Doors open at 7 a.m. every day, with weekday hours running to 7 p.m. and weekend mornings to 1 p.m.
  • It is the only shop on this list with published Sunday hours.
  • WeddingWire pricing starts a bridal bouquet at $150, bridesmaid bouquets at $70 and boutonnieres at $20.
  • WeddingWire describes the business as family-run and women-owned.
  • Same-day delivery is advertised, but no cutoff time is published.

Garden of Eden Florist

South Main Street's flower shop, south of downtown near the cemetery end of town, and the only other year-round retail florist inside Wake Forest limits. The emphasis is custom design over stock arrangements, and Yahoo Local calls it family-owned and says some flowers come freshly cut from the shop's own garden. Weddings get a dedicated page, and sympathy work runs from casket sprays to wreaths. The shop names no owner on its site; review replies come from staff named Jeff, Eddie and Christy.

Why we chose them

  • Its delivery page names nine towns and 17 ZIP codes, from Franklinton to Zebulon.
  • Seven funeral homes are listed on the delivery page, including Bright Funeral Home in Wake Forest, plus WakeMed North and Duke Raleigh.
  • Same-day delivery is the home-page promise, though the shop publishes no cutoff time.
  • Weekday hours end at 4 p.m. on the shop's own contact page, and Sunday is closed.

Address: Wake Forest — 1273 S. Main St.

Heritage Flowers

A wedding-and-installation studio that also runs a daily-delivery shop, now in downtown Youngsville one block off East Main Street. Readers who remember the storefront that opened on South White Street in April 2023 should note the move: every page of the business's own sites prints the Weathers Street address, and the date of the move could not be confirmed. Chris Batts is owner and lead florist, with Christian Fessler as operations manager, and the site describes the business as LGBT owned and operated. Fruit baskets, balloon bundles and bouquet subscriptions fill out the shop side.

Why we chose them

  • Same-day delivery runs on orders placed by noon to nine ZIP codes across Wake and Franklin counties.
  • Its Heart of NC Weddings listing describes arches, arbors, ceremony backdrops and a la carte flowers for DIY weddings.
  • The FAQ tells customers to skip wire services, citing higher fees and substitutions.
  • Funeral deliveries named on the FAQ include Bright Funeral Home, Feggins & Feggins and Renaissance Funeral Home.
  • Closed Sunday, and the shop opens at 10 a.m. on other days.

Address: Youngsville — 120 Weathers St., Ste. E

North Raleigh Florist

A Raleigh legacy name since 1988, now working from a Capital Boulevard address inside the Beltline that its own home page calls temporary; the shop's long-time Six Forks Road location just north of I-540 still appears in Yellow Pages, and the move could not be dated. Owner Janice Cutler ran Montgomery's Florist until 2001 and reopened North Raleigh Florist in 2007, per the About page. Funeral design is extensive, with cremation settings, and the wedding side runs a free consultation and a preferred-vendor list. Delivery reaches Wake Forest and Rolesville.

Why we chose them

  • Same-day delivery is generally available on orders placed before noon, except around major holidays, per store policies.
  • WeddingWire shows Couples' Choice awards for 2015 and 2017.
  • The site says it was voted Best Florist in the Triangle 2013 by Indyweek.com.
  • Closed Sunday, and Saturday hours run 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • A delivery or service fee applies, but the amount is not published.

Address: Raleigh — 2731 Capital Blvd., temporary location

Southern Pearl Boutiques Florist and Gifts

Half flower shop and half gift boutique on North Main Street in downtown Wendell. The floral side covers everyday arrangements, wedding work and sympathy pieces from casket sprays to memorial designs. The boutique side stocks candles, home decor and a house-plant selection of succulents, dish gardens, peace lilies and blooming plants. The site names no owner or founding year; review replies on its Flower Shop Network profile are signed by Becky, and the shop calls itself locally owned.

Why we chose them

  • Customer reviews on its Flower Shop Network profile are dated through August 2026.
  • The About page promises daily delivery to funeral homes in the Wendell area.

Wake Forest Florist

The downtown anchor of the category, at the south end of the White Street historic district, and self-described as "the original florist of Wake Forest." The shop has run since 1964 and belongs to the Teleflora network, so an order can go anywhere in the country from the counter. Daily fresh flowers, weekly tropicals, exotic stems from Holland, dried arrangements and gift baskets fill the retail side; wedding work, event design and sympathy tributes are the core services. Designers Seraph Sharpe and Alison Creekmore both appear on its staff list.

Why we chose them

  • Its About page lists N.C. State Fair ribbons from 1999 through 2016, including Best in Show, Sympathy, in 2004.
  • Same-day delivery runs on orders placed by 2 p.m. weekdays or noon Saturday, with local fees of $12 to $24.95.
  • Delivery covers Wake Forest, Rolesville, Youngsville, Franklinton, Louisburg, Wakefield Plantation and rural northern Wake County per the About page.
  • The site says every bouquet is made in house and personally delivered by the shop.
  • Staff designer Seraph Sharpe built a piece for the N.C. Museum of Art's Art in Bloom show in 2024.

Address: Wake Forest — 536 S. White St.
