Best coffee and tea shops in Morrisville

Morrisville is about 35 minutes from Wake Forest on I-540, on the far side of Raleigh where the airport meets Research Triangle Park. If you work in RTP or fly out of RDU, this is the coffee within reach of your desk or your gate. The town is small for coffee: independent sit-down shops come down to three, all on Chapel Hill Road (NC 54), and nobody roasts in Morrisville. Fount Coffee + Kitchen pours Counter Culture from Durham and rotates guest roasters, Milo's Cafe makes crepes in a converted gas station, and Meeple's Brew lends out board games with your latte.

Past those three, the category turns to tea. Purple & Pearl at Grace Park is the town's one independent boba shop, Chai Fresh brews masala chai a few doors from Meeple's, and two chain tea houses fill in the rest. The Chapel Hill Road shops sit within a few minutes of one another; Grace Park and Davis Drive are a short hop south.

How we chose

Morrisville has only three independent sit-down coffee shops, so the list widens to tea houses and to Thousand Hills Coffee, the cafe of an Atlanta company with about 18 cafes, to reach eight. Bengong's Tea is a franchise unit, and Feng Cha is a national chain, kept in as the busiest tea house in town. Chai Fresh's own site prints both a Morrisville and a Cary address. National chains with drive-thrus were left out, as were places that closed; Fare and Fellow's Morrisville shop shut in early 2026.

Each shop showed a dated sign of being open as of September 2026, and facts come from the business's own site. Entries are listed alphabetically, not ranked. Hours and prices were checked in September 2026; call about anything an entry calls unconfirmed.

Bengong's Tea

Davis Drive near Morrisville-Carpenter Road has a tea house in the space Quickly left behind. Bengong's Tea is a franchise unit of a brand founded in China in 2015 that now advertises US franchising, and the local operator is not published, so it is here on the strength of the menu alone: cheese-foam teas, yakult fruit teas, cream-top oolong milk tea, tiramisu boba and Chinese desserts such as mango pomelo sago and coconut pudding. No other tea shop in Morrisville, Feng Cha included, goes as deep on tea.

Why we chose them

  • Cheese black tea is $6.25 and peach oolong milk tea with cream top $7.75 on the Chowbus ordering page.
  • Passion fruit and watermelon yakult teas are $7.15 each, a style no other tea shop in town lists.
  • The brand markets its drinks as organic with zero additives on bengongstea.us, a claim that is not independently checked.
  • No dated 2026 review or article confirms it is open; only live ordering pages on Chowbus and Uber Eats do.
  • The 2015 date on the Morrisville site is the brand's founding year; the store's own opening date is unpublished.

Address: Morrisville — 4141 Davis Dr.

Chai Fresh

Masala chai brewed with ginger and spices, South Indian filter coffee and bun maska make this the area's one Indian chai cafe, on the same stretch of Chapel Hill Road as Meeple's Brew. Chai Fresh also runs a boba menu with falooda and sharbath and a full meal card of dosas, momos, pakoras and wraps. One caveat before you go: the shop's own site prints both a Morrisville and a Cary address for the plaza, and the town line runs along this part of NC 54, so it may sit in Cary.

Why we chose them

  • Opened in July 2024, per chaifresh.com.
  • Yelp lists a Bapu Fresh at the same address; whether that is a rename or a predecessor is not published.
  • The counter closes from 3 to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, per the hours on its site.
  • Doors open at 11:30 a.m., so it is not a morning coffee stop.
  • No prices are published on its site, so ask at the counter.

Address: Morrisville — 9589 Chapel Hill Rd.

Feng Cha

This is the tea house most people in Morrisville already know, and it is a chain. Feng Cha's store at Park West Village on Village Market Place opened in May 2022, and its parent's order page lists 87 stores in 14 states, which puts it outside the independent standard the rest of this list uses. Its own store page lists only the address and phone, so treat this entry as a pointer.

Why we chose them

  • Opened in May 2022, per Girl Eats World's Triangle bubble tea roundup.
  • The chain's order page lists 87 stores in 14 states and a franchise site.
  • Its store page publishes no menu or prices; the chain's order page is where to look.

Address: Morrisville — 3037 Village Market Pl., at Park West Village

Fount Coffee + Kitchen

Two married couples run this coffee shop at Marketplace at Perimeter Park, on Chapel Hill Road near Airport Boulevard, and it is the most fully documented cafe in town. Counter Culture from Durham is the house coffee, with guest roasters, Black & White of Wake Forest among them, rotating through a central bar ringed by stools, communal tables, bleacher seating and booths. The kitchen is entirely gluten-free and cooks breakfast and lunch all day: toasts on house-baked bread, smoothie bowls, salads and small plates, with beer, wine and kombucha on draft in the afternoon.

Why we chose them

  • Opened in December 2018, per a This Is Raleigh feature dated November 27, 2025.
  • This Is Raleigh named it their favorite coffee shop in the Triangle on November 27, 2025.
  • Its own site lists Wi-Fi and seating for 60, with standing room for 132.
  • Smashed avocado toast was $8.50 and smoothie bowls $13 when This Is Raleigh visited in November 2025.
  • The shop is closed on Sundays, per the hours on its home page.

Address: Morrisville — 10954 Chapel Hill Rd., Ste. 109, at Marketplace at Perimeter Park

Meeple's Brew

Board games are the point at this Chapel Hill Road cafe near the Cary line, which Raleigh Realty calls the Triangle's first board game cafe. A day pass buys access to a library that the shop's site puts at more than 850 games across this store and a second one on Bass Pro Lane in Cary. The counter pours coffee drinks from $4.25 to $6.25 with house-made syrups, plus smoothies, milkshakes and, unusually for a Morrisville coffee shop, beer, cider and mead. Flatbreads, wraps, waffles and avocado toast make up the food menu.

Why we chose them

  • Open since at least February 2021, when a Macaroni KID event listing described the Morrisville cafe.
  • A day pass is $5 per person, and kids under 12 are free with an adult.
  • Weekend tables need an advance reservation with non-refundable prepayment, per the rduisfun.com listing.
  • Game rental runs $10 for seven days, and a monthly pass is $25 for one person plus a guest.
  • Raleigh Realty calls it dog-friendly, but the shop's own site states no dog policy.

Address: Morrisville — 9545 Chapel Hill Rd.

Milo's Cafe

A converted gas station on Chapel Hill Road beside the railroad tracks holds Morrisville's one European-style cafe. Milo's was founded by a Colombian woman and a French-Algerian man who met in Paris, and the menu carries both sides of that story: savory and sweet crepes, focaccia sandwiches with schnitzel or prosciutto, burrata salads, French toast and croissants, alongside cortados, cold brew and a rotating specialty latte. There is a patio. The cafe has no website of its own, and its hours differ by source, so check before driving over.

Why we chose them

  • Crepes and focaccia sandwiches appear on no other coffee shop menu in Morrisville.
  • Specialty lattes have included Gingerbread Maple, Coconut and Ube, per Raleigh Realty in October 2025.
  • Wi-Fi is free, per Raleigh Realty's October 2025 list and the placejoys listing.
  • Published hours disagree between Raleigh Realty, Uber Eats and the placejoys listing, so call ahead.
  • No source states an opening year; it was already on Raleigh Realty's list by October 2025.

Address: Morrisville — 10119 Chapel Hill Rd.

Purple & Pearl

Bubble tea is the draw at this Grace Park shop, which took over the former Sharetea space off Morrisville Parkway at Town Hall Drive. Purple & Pearl is the one independent bubble tea shop in town, and it pairs fruit teas, milk teas and slushes with acai and pitaya bowls, croffles and Vietnamese coffee, including a salted cream version. Its opening date is not published; the earliest review we found is from February 2026, and the site carries no franchise language.

Why we chose them

  • Fruit teas run $3.50 to $6.50 and milk teas $5.75 to $6.75 on its own site.
  • Acai and pitaya bowls are $8.50 to $10.50 on the site; Uber Eats marks them up to $12.50.
  • Doors open at noon every day, so it does not work as a morning coffee stop.
  • Vietnamese coffee is $5.50 to $6.50, and lattes include ube matcha and strawberry matcha.

Address: Morrisville — 1101 Grace Park Dr., at Grace Park

Thousand Hills Coffee

On the ground floor of the NOVEL Morrisville apartments, at Southport Drive and Athletic Lane near the Cary line, this is the cafe of Land of a Thousand Hills, an Atlanta roaster with about 18 cafes in eight states, so it is the one entry here owned by a company from outside the Triangle. A November 2024 blog post described it as the largest work-friendly room in town, with floor-to-ceiling windows, couches and work tables, and beer and wine come out in the evening. Parking is the building's retail lot.

Why we chose them

  • The beans are roasted in Atlanta and sourced directly from Rwandan farmers, per landofathousandhills.com.
  • Its own location page and three directories each print different hours, so check before you go.
  • Yelp and other directories list the same shop at 218 Southport Dr.; both addresses describe the NOVEL building.
  • No source gives an opening month; a blog post dated November 12, 2024 describes the shop already open.
  • Whether the Morrisville store is company-owned or licensed is not published by the parent company.

Address: Morrisville — 909 Athletic Ln., at NOVEL Morrisville

Prices, hours and opening status last checked September 21, 2026. Call ahead where an entry says to.
