The best chiropractors in Raleigh and Wake Forest

Start with the thing that makes this guide harder than the others. The NC State Board of Chiropractic Examiners runs no public license lookup. There is a written request form and that is it. You cannot type a name into a box and see whether the person about to adjust your neck holds a current license, which is a strange gap for a regulated profession.

There is one workaround, and we used it for all ten entries. BBB business profiles publish the state board license number the BBB holds on file. Every practice below has a number confirmed that way, and we print it in the entry so you can carry it to the board yourself if you want the formal verification.

Two practices came off our working list. One because the board issued a consent order against its owner in February 2026, with a finding that clinical decision making and case management were below the standard of care. The other because no BBB profile exists for it, which meant no license number could be confirmed from any source at all. Neither absence is a comment on anybody's hands, and the first one is worth dwelling on: that practice still holds an A+ BBB rating, which is exactly why a rating on its own is not enough.

Before the list starts, one thing to be clear about. We have not hired any of these businesses, and we are not telling you they do good work, because we have no way of knowing that. What is ranked below is ranked on facts you can check yourself: license number and status, years in business, published credentials, BBB rating and accreditation, service area and published hours. Where a business publishes nothing, we say so instead of filling the gap. Get more than one quote, and look the license up yourself before you sign anything.

Hours below come from each business's own published information and change without notice. Call ahead if you are making a special trip.

Davis Family Chiropractic

A Strickland Road practice in north Raleigh whose lead chiropractor holds a Diplomate in Chiropractic Pediatrics, a credential the practice says only four people in North Carolina hold. Both doctors are Webster Technique certified, which is the specific thing to ask about if you are pregnant. NC license 2632, BBB rated A+.

Hours: Mon 8 to 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 to 5:30 p.m. Tue 8 a.m. to noon and 1 to 5 p.m. Wed 7:45 a.m. to noon. Thu 8 a.m. to noon and 1:30 to 5:30 p.m. Fri 8 a.m. to noon. Closed weekends.

Address: 7901 Strickland Rd., Suite 115, Raleigh, NC 27615

Why they made the list

  • NC chiropractic license 2632, confirmed on the practice's BBB profile. With no public state lookup, a BBB-published number is the strongest verification available in this field.
  • Dr. Alisha Davis holds DACCP, a Diplomate in Chiropractic Pediatrics, and the practice states she is one of only four in North Carolina. It is the highest pediatric credential claimed by anyone in this guide.
  • Both doctors are Webster Technique certified.
  • Life University, and practicing chiropractic since 1999. The practice itself opened in Raleigh in the fall of 2012.
  • BBB rated A+, though not accredited.
  • One correction worth making: this is north Raleigh, roughly six miles from Wake Forest. It is not a Wake Forest practice, whatever the search results suggest.

Atlas Orthogonal Chiropractic

Two Board Certified Atlas Orthogonists working out of one Falls of Neuse office since 1995. Atlas orthogonal is an instrument-based upper cervical method, and board certification in it is rare enough that having two in a single practice is the strongest technical credential in this guide. NC license 2251, BBB A+.

Hours: Mon and Tue 7:40 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wed 1 to 5 p.m. Thu 7:40 a.m. to 5 p.m. Fri 7:40 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday by appointment, emergencies only.

Address: 6829 Falls of Neuse Rd., Suite 104, Raleigh, NC 27615

Why they made the list

  • NC chiropractic license 2251, confirmed on the practice's BBB profile.
  • Both Dr. Bill Macchi and Dr. Adam Austin are published as B.C.A.O., Board Certified Atlas Orthogonist. Two in one office is unusual anywhere in the state.
  • Both also hold advanced proficiency in Activator Methods, and Dr. Macchi holds a whiplash and brain injury traumatology certification from the Spine Research Institute of San Diego.
  • Both trained at Life University College of Chiropractic.
  • BBB rated A+, though not accredited. Saturday appointments are available for emergencies.
  • The practice says it has been here since 1995 while the BBB record gives a start date of 1998. We have printed both.

Carolina ChiroCare and Rehab

A Ridge Road practice with on-site X-ray, a Palmer Florida graduate who actually publishes his year, and the only chiropractor in this guide certified as an expert witness in chiropractic medicine in the North Carolina courts. NC license 3985, BBB A+.

Hours: Mon-Thu 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Fri 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Closed weekends.

Address: 1207 Ridge Rd., Raleigh, NC 27607

Why they made the list

  • NC chiropractic license 3985, confirmed on the practice's BBB profile.
  • Dr. Jeffrey Gerdes publishes his school and year outright: Palmer College of Chiropractic Florida, 2008. Most practices in this field publish neither.
  • On-site X-ray, listed as a service on the practice's own site.
  • Certified Expert Witness in Chiropractic Medicine in the North Carolina courts since 2011, plus MRI interpretation certification through SUNY Buffalo and advanced whiplash biomechanics certification.
  • BBB rated A+, though not accredited.
  • Read the radiology training carefully. He holds MRI interpretation certification and post-doctoral radiology coursework, not a DACBR, and to its credit the practice does not claim one.

Porter & Rabinowitz Chiropractic

The strongest Wake Forest practice in this guide, and one of only two entries anywhere on the list with two separate NC license numbers confirmed. Both doctors are second-generation chiropractors, working from a family tradition their site puts at more than forty-five years. Applied kinesiology and board certification in physiotherapy.

Hours: Mon, Tue and Thu 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 2:30 to 6 p.m. Wed and Fri 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 2:30 to 6 p.m. Closed weekends.

Address: 12351 Capital Blvd., Wake Forest, NC 27587

Why they made the list

  • Two NC chiropractic licenses confirmed on the practice's BBB profile, 3773 and 3774, one for each doctor. Only one other entry here can show two.
  • Both doctors publish board certification in physiotherapy and National Board of Chiropractic Examiners certification.
  • Applied kinesiology sits among their published techniques, alongside Activator Methods, S.O.T., Thompson, N.E.T., motion palpation, chiropractic biophysics and Kennedy spinal decompression. It is the longest published technique list in this guide.
  • BBB rated A+, though not accredited, with no complaints or alerts on the profile.
  • Evening appointments to 6 p.m. every weekday, which no other Wake Forest practice here matches.
  • The gap: neither doctor publishes a chiropractic college or a graduation year, which is odd given how much else they do publish.

Triangle Chiropractic & Rehabilitation Center

A Falls Valley Drive practice founded in 2012, and the only chiropractor in this guide with a dated, named post-graduate certification in the practitioner's own field: Dr. Lindsay Mumma became a Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization Practitioner in 2023, the first in North Carolina by the practice's own account. NC license 4248, BBB A+.

Hours: Mon 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2:30 to 6 p.m. Tue 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wed 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thu 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 4 to 6 p.m. Fri 7 a.m. to noon. Closed weekends.

Address: 2011 Falls Valley Dr., Suite 102, Raleigh, NC 27615

Why they made the list

  • NC chiropractic license 4248, confirmed on the practice's BBB profile.
  • Dr. Lindsay Mumma holds DNSP, Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization Practitioner, certified in 2023. The practice says she is the first DNS practitioner in North Carolina.
  • Dr. Cory Bailey publishes an exact graduation date, Logan University, August 2021, along with FMS and SFMA Level 2 certification and trigger point dry needling. Exact dates are rare in this field.
  • Founded 2012, confirmed twice: the practice's own site and a BBB start date of January 1, 2012.
  • BBB rated A+, though not accredited. Same-day appointments are published, plus a free ten-minute consultation for new patients.
  • Their own site gives two different ZIP codes for this address, 27615 and 27616, and the BBB record still carries their old Hargrove Road address. Use the Falls Valley Drive address and call to confirm the rest.

Active Chiropractic

A Six Forks Road practice founded in 2005, whose three chiropractors between them publish Active Release Technique, Graston and dry needling certification. That is the broadest soft-tissue toolkit in the guide. The reason it is not higher is simple: the practice publishes no opening hours anywhere at all.

Hours: Not published. The practice's own contact page and its online booking page both show no schedule, and it asks you to call or book online.

Address: 3410 Six Forks Rd., Raleigh, NC 27609

Why they made the list

  • NC chiropractic license 3394, confirmed on the practice's BBB profile under Dr. Molly Hall, president.
  • Three named soft-tissue certifications across three doctors: Active Release Technique for Dr. Hall, Graston for Dr. Matthew Murphy, dry needling for Dr. Ahni Ruzsa.
  • Dr. Hall graduated cum laude from Logan College of Chiropractic in 2005 and founded the practice the same year. Dr. Ruzsa graduated from Northwestern Health Sciences University in 2025.
  • Also published: neurokinetic therapy, myofascial release, flexion-distraction, and McKenzie method training.
  • No office hours are published anywhere, not on the site and not on the booking page. You cannot check before you call, which is a real inconvenience.
  • BBB has not rated it, because it says it holds too little information, not because of any complaint. The BBB record also lists a second Tucker Street address that the practice's own site does not mention.

Crabtree Chiropractic Center

The only practice in this guide with real Saturday hours and a published walk-in policy. It runs 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. five days a week and 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, open through lunch throughout. Founded in the early 1980s, and NC license 1346 is one of the two lowest numbers here.

Hours: Mon-Fri 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sat 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Closed Sunday. Open through lunch.

Address: 4517 Lead Mine Rd., Suite A, Raleigh, NC 27612

Why they made the list

  • NC chiropractic license 1346, confirmed on the practice's BBB profile under founder Dr. Charles Kubasko. One of the two oldest license numbers in this guide.
  • The widest schedule of any chiropractor here by a distance: eleven hours a day on weekdays, seven on Saturday, and open through lunch.
  • Publishes a walk-in policy for established patients, same-day appointments, and a no-charge preliminary consultation. Nothing else here does all three.
  • Dr. Thomas Andersen graduated magna cum laude from Palmer College of Chiropractic in 2020. Dr. Max Smith graduated from the Los Angeles College of Chiropractic in 2025 and is Webster Technique certified.
  • Founder Dr. Chas Kubasko is now described on the practice's own site as retired from active adjusting after shoulder surgery, and serving as a mentor and trainer. If you are booking hoping to see him, you will not.
  • The practice gives three different founding years across its own pages and the BBB record: 1983, 1984, and a BBB start date of April 1984. BBB has not rated it either, again for want of information.

Johnson Chiropractic, PC

Dr. Chris Johnson graduated from Logan College of Chiropractic in 1985 and has practiced in Raleigh ever since. Forty-one years under one doctor is the longest single-practitioner run in the guide, and the office handles imaging in house with an X-ray technologist on staff. NC license 1523.

Hours: Mon, Tue and Thu 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wed 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Closed Friday through Sunday. Open through lunch.

Address: 4326 Bland Rd., Raleigh, NC 27609

Why they made the list

  • NC chiropractic license 1523, confirmed on the practice's BBB profile. The lowest number in this guide after Crabtree.
  • Logan College of Chiropractic, 1985, with the Raleigh practice starting the same year.
  • Also holds a BS from Campbell College and an M.Ed. from Campbell University.
  • Advanced radiology training under Dr. Terry Yochum, and soft-tissue trauma training under Dr. Arthur Croft at the Spine Research Institute of San Diego.
  • An X-ray technologist is listed on staff, so imaging is handled in house, not referred out.
  • Two things to know before you call: the BBB record still lists the old Falls of Neuse address instead of Bland Road, BBB has not rated the practice for insufficient information, and the office is closed Friday.

Midtown Chiropractic Clinic

A Pacific Drive practice with a business start date of November 2000 and both doctors trained at Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport. NC license 2106 is the second lowest number in the guide, and the BBB rating is A+. What holds it at ninth is that it publishes no post-graduate certification at all.

Hours: Mon 8 a.m. to noon and 2 to 5 p.m. Tue 2 to 6 p.m. Wed 8 a.m. to noon and 2 to 5 p.m. Thu 2 to 6 p.m. Fri 7 a.m. to noon. Closed weekends.

Address: 1705 Pacific Dr., Raleigh, NC 27609

Why they made the list

  • NC chiropractic license 2106, confirmed on the practice's BBB profile. The second lowest number in this guide.
  • BBB rated A+, though not accredited, with no complaints or alerts.
  • A hard business start date of November 30, 2000 from the BBB record. Twenty-five years.
  • Dr. Brian Spencer Eaton and Dr. Maryanne Eaton both trained at Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa.
  • The Eatons arrived after seventeen years running a practice in Las Vegas, so the clinic's history and the current owners' tenure are different lengths. The BBB record also carries a prior Wake Forest Road address.
  • No post-graduate certification is published anywhere. Pediatric and pregnancy chiropractic are offered as services with no certifying body named, which is the whole reason this sits where it does.

Heritage Chiropractic Wellness Center

Dr. Joe Criscuola's Wake Forest practice on Rogers Road, trading since February 2007 and holding NC license 3684. It is last on the list for one reason, and it is not a clinical one: the practice's website blocks automated readers, so almost nothing beyond the license, the address and the start date could be confirmed from a published source.

Hours: Not published in any source we could read. Call before making a trip.

Address: 2824 Rogers Rd., Suite 204, Wake Forest, NC 27587

Why they made the list

  • NC chiropractic license 3684, confirmed on the practice's BBB profile under Dr. Joe Criscuola as principal contact.
  • A hard business start date of February 21, 2007 from the BBB record, incorporated March 2012. Nineteen years.
  • One of only three Wake Forest practices in this guide, and the only one in the Rogers Road corridor.
  • No BBB complaints and no reviews on the profile. BBB has not rated it, again for want of information.
  • The practice's own website blocks automated readers, so we could not confirm hours, chiropractic college, graduation year or any certification. That is not a mark against the practice. It does mean we could not check what it says about itself.
  • For the same reason, the phone number and address here come from the BBB profile, not the practice's own site.
