Smith Creek Soccer Center

About
Smith Creek Soccer Center is the Town of Wake Forest’s soccer complex, set inside the Heritage neighborhood on Heritage Lake Road. The town bought the nearly 17-acre site in 2002 and had the park built out by 2005, with three soccer fields, a shelter and a playground.
Youth and adult leagues play here, teams practice here, and tournaments come through during the season. The Parks, Recreation and Cultural Resources department runs it and hosts programs put on by the town and by partner groups. Field information and rentals are handled on the town website.
What to know
- A paved stretch of the Smith Creek Greenway runs along the fields.
- That section covers about two-thirds of a mile.
- It was extended another 2.4 miles in 2017, south of Rogers Road.
- The land came from Andy Ammons, who built the 2,600-acre Heritage development.
- Heritage was named Master Planned Community of the Year in 2003 and 2007.
