Best things to do in Youngsville: fall farms and a new taproom

Youngsville sits up US 1 from Wake Forest in Franklin County, and its list of things to do is short and heavy on fall. Downtown has a new anchor in North State Brewing, a nano-brewery and meadery that opened on East Main Street in September 2026, and a handful of antique shops, The Tin Pig among them, on and near Main Street.

Most of the draw sits on county roads with Youngsville mailing addresses. Hill Ridge Farms runs its pumpkin festival from mid-September into November, Panic Point has staged a haunted forest every fall since 2011, and Olde Liberty Golf Club is a public course open to anyone with a tee time.

Our read: October is the month to spend a full Saturday here, farm by day and taproom or haunt at night.

How we chose

We looked inside town first. Hill Ridge Farms, Panic Point and Olde Liberty Golf Club carry Youngsville addresses, but none could be matched to town limits, and the first two likely sit in unincorporated Franklin County; they are included because every source files them as Youngsville. Each pick showed a sign of being open in October 2026, facts come from each business's own site where it loaded, and no entry holds a dated award.

Lake Royale is private and was excluded, as were the Youngsville Museum of History and four antique shops with no confirmed address. Restaurants have their own list. The town is small; the list stops at six. Entries are alphabetical and are not ranked. Hours and prices were checked in October 2026; call about anything marked unconfirmed.

Hill Ridge Farms

Each fall this family farm on Tarboro Road, east of town, turns into the area's big pumpkin festival, with train rides, a carousel and wagon rides out to the patch all included in admission. Barnyard animals, a gem mine, a fish dock, a jump pillow and a mountain slide fill out the day, and the snack stands sell apple cider doughnuts, kettle corn, funnel cakes and BBQ. The Youngsville mailing address likely sits in unincorporated Franklin County.

Why we chose them

  • Admission is $24.95 for ages 2 and up, and children under 2 get in free, per Fun4RaleighKids in 2026.
  • Every fall admission includes a free pumpkin from the patch, the farm's own site says.
  • The 2026 fall season runs from September 19 to November 6, 2026, Wednesday through Sunday, per the farm's site.
  • Tickets are sold only at the booth or country store, with no reservations, and the site says it does not sell out.
  • A farm blog lists a children's costume parade on October 24 and 25, 2026, which the farm's site does not confirm.

Address: Youngsville — 703 Tarboro Road

Luddy Park

Officially Bill and Angie Luddy Park, this is the town's main recreation park and the base for youth baseball and softball in Youngsville. Third-party pages describe ball fields, a concession stand, paved walking trails and a playground, though none of that could be checked against a town webpage. It sits on US 1A, but sources give different street numbers, so look it up on a map before driving over.

Why we chose them

  • Baseball and softball fields can be rented through the town, per a local lawn-care company's write-up.
  • Street numbers conflict between pages, with 218 US-1 Alt. on one and 200 US-1 on another.
  • A courts directory lists three free pickleball courts at a Parks & Rec address on US 1A, possibly elsewhere.
  • The only 2026 sign of activity is a Yelp page marked updated in September 2026, so treat the details as unconfirmed.

Address: Youngsville — US-1A (no confirmed street number)

North State Brewing

Downtown's newest taproom opened on East Main Street in September 2026 as a nano-brewery and meadery. It brews one-barrel batches, about 30 gallons at a time, on reclaimed equipment, per Triangle Around Town, so the board turns over quickly. Reclaimed barn wood covers the room, and two dart boards and a pool table keep a crowd busy. Owners Ian Zech and Rob Smith run it, and the brewery's site calls it veteran-owned.

Why we chose them

  • Untappd lists Youngsville Haze, an 8% double hazy IPA, and The Intern, a 10% American barleywine.
  • Two meads are on Untappd's list, including Silk & Bloom, a 10.8% melomel.
  • Beer and mead flights make it easy to sample a board this new.
  • A darts league meets on Wednesdays, and food trucks come on select Saturday evenings.
  • Full weekly hours were not posted on the homepage in October 2026, so check before a weekday visit.

Address: Youngsville — 133 E. Main St.

Olde Liberty Golf Club

Inside the Olde Liberty community, this public 18-hole course was designed by Michael Gleason and Joel Moulin, per the club's site, and stretches to 7,200 yards from the championship tees. It is daily-fee, so no membership is needed to book a round. A driving range, practice green and chipping area handle the warmup, and there is a golf shop and snack bar. The Youngsville address could not be matched to town limits.

Why we chose them

  • From the back tees it plays to par 72 with a 74.1 rating and a 136 slope, per Stymie.
  • A $275 monthly membership covers greens and cart fees at three courses, the club's site says.
  • Walking is permitted, according to Stymie's course listing.
  • GolfNow showed an open tee time for Tuesday, October 6, 2026, and books rounds alongside the course itself.

Panic Point

Out on Cedar Creek Road, a 48-acre property has turned into a haunted attraction every fall since 2011, per ABC11. The centerpiece is a half-mile Haunted Forest with 12 scenes, and the 2026 lineup adds the swamp-themed Dark Trail, a contact hayride, the Killers in the Corn maze and Stalkers Farm. ABC11 counted about 90 actors working the grounds. The Youngsville mailing address likely sits in unincorporated Franklin County.

Why we chose them

  • Nobody 8 or under is admitted, and ages 9 to 13 need an adult, per the attraction's site.
  • Tickets sell online in three price tiers set by expected crowd size.
  • Carny Crypt costs an extra $7 on top of a regular ticket.
  • The site runs the season through a November 1 and 2 Halloweekend, but some copy is outdated, so confirm nights.
  • Co-owners Geoff Huguely and Brian Garff also stage a December Yuletide Nightmare, held for the 11th time in 2025.

Address: Youngsville — 2808 Cedar Creek Road

The Tin Pig

Vendor booths fill this multi-vendor antiques and vintage decor shop on East Main Street, with jewelry and furniture among the stock, per its Giftly listing. It is one of five downtown antique shops named together in Rep. Brad Knott's January 16, 2026 House blog post, alongside Railroad Antiques, The Giving Tree, Tobacco Road Primitives and Mary and Company. North State Brewing sits on the same stretch of East Main.

Why we chose them

  • The five shops held a joint Small Business Saturday on November 29, 2025, per Rep. Knott's post.
  • No hours or website turned up, so call before a weekday trip.
  • The address and phone come from a gift-card platform, since the shop's Facebook page could not be checked.
  • One realtor guide calls it a BBQ restaurant, but Giftly and the Knott post both describe an antiques shop.

Address: Youngsville — 127 E. Main St., Suite 100
