The Heritage Grille is now The Gramercy Restaurant and Lounge
The Heritage Grille & Wine Barrel on Heritage Links Drive in Wake Forest now operates as The Gramercy Restaurant & Lounge. The date of the name change has not been published.
The Gramercy’s website gives the address as 1228 Heritage Links Drive in the Heritage neighborhood, with the phone number (919) 435-0312. The Wake Forest Area Chamber of Commerce member directory still lists Heritage Grille & Wine Barrel at that same address and phone number, with Ben Thomas as the contact. The restaurant’s website does not say whether ownership changed along with the name.
The restaurant’s OpenTable reservation page still sits at a web address built on “the-heritage-grille-wake-forest,” but on September 30, 2026, it showed the Gramercy name, the Heritage Links Drive address and the same phone number. The older Heritage Grille website was also still online that day under the old name.
The Town of Wake Forest’s new-business list, which runs from January through August 2026, has no entry for the Gramercy name or the Heritage Links Drive address.
Dining room, bar and lounge
The OpenTable listing describes three spaces: a formal dining room for an upscale dinner, a bar dining room for an informal meal, and a cocktail lounge that still carries the name The Wine Barrel. The Gramercy’s own website splits the business into two sides, the restaurant and The Gramercy Lounge, and describes the lounge as a place for small plates and signature cocktails.
OpenTable lists the cuisine as contemporary American, comfort food and Southern, with a business casual dress code, a patio and parking in a private lot. The website also offers takeout ordering, group reservations and private parties.
