Rogers Branch Road retail fills up as road widening starts

Lane closures began Monday, September 21, 2026 on Forestville Road and Rogers Branch Road in Wake Forest, where a contractor is widening both roads for the Wheat Field II shopping center. The closures run 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily through mid-October, according to a traffic alert the town posted the same day. The work comes as the new retail buildings at 3601 to 3605 Rogers Branch Road fill with tenants: the town’s new-business list shows six building permits issued there in July and August.

Where the lanes close and when

The contractor is Big R Associates, which the alert describes as working at Wheat Field II. The alert lists two stretches of road that drop to one lane with intermittent two-way traffic:

• Forestville Road from Rogers Branch Road to the McDonald’s.
• Rogers Branch Road between Forestville Road and Rogers Road.

Closures run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day, starting September 21 and continuing through mid-October, the alert says. Signage and flaggers direct traffic through the work area, and the town says delays are expected and suggests an alternate route. Sassom LLC, based at 10121 Capital Blvd., Suite 105 in Wake Forest, is marketing the center. A leasing flyer from the company describes Wheat Field II as about 28,000 square feet of retail space on about 2.35 acres zoned Neighborhood Business, within the Heritage Wake Forest planned community and next to the Publix and Harris Teeter shopping centers. The flyer gives the site address as 3500 Rogers Branch Road, while the town’s permit list uses 3601 through 3615 Rogers Branch Road for the individual buildings.

Six permits in two months

The town’s new-business list records building permits by month. It shows these Rogers Branch Road entries for the summer:

• Pulp Juice & Smoothie Bar, 3605 Rogers Branch Road, Suite 105, was permitted in July.
• Holistic Vitality Center, 3601 Rogers Branch Road, Suite 103, was permitted in July.
• 4Ever Young, 3601 Rogers Branch Road, Suite 105, was permitted in July.
• Modern Tasty Food, 3604 Rogers Branch Road, Suite 101, was permitted in July.
• Anstead’s Cigar Barn, 3605 Rogers Branch Road, Suite 106, was permitted in August.
• Barre3 Fitness, 3605 Rogers Branch Road, Suite 104, was permitted in August.

Two earlier permits on the same list fill in the rest of the block. Pilates Addiction, permitted in March at 3604 Rogers Branch Road, Suite 104, is open, according to the studio’s website, which lists hours of 6 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to noon Saturday and 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. Sunday, and a phone number of 919-263-2370. The Swing Bays, permitted in May at 3615 Rogers Branch Road, is an indoor golf business with six simulator bays that its website lists as coming in October 2026.

Which of the six are open

Only one of the summer permits has turned into an open door so far. Anstead’s Cigar Barn is open in Suite 106 at 3605 Rogers Branch Road, with hours of 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday and closed Sunday, according to the company’s website, which describes the store as a grab-and-go location with an outdoor patio lounge across from Publix and Chick-fil-A. The store opened in September.

The juice bar is permitted but not open. Pulp Juice & Smoothie Bar lists its Wake Forest store at 3605 Rogers Branch Road, Suite 105 as “Coming Soon” with no hours, phone number or opening date, according to the company’s website. Pulp named Wake Forest in February 2026 as one of six new markets for the year, alongside Circleville, Salem and Hartville in Ohio, Hermitage in Pennsylvania and Lenexa in Kansas. The chain’s location list shows about 72 stores in six states, 59 of them in Ohio, and two open North Carolina stores, in Chapel Hill and Cornelius. The company is running a grand-opening contest for the Wake Forest store: one winner gets a regular classic smoothie each week for 52 weeks, a prize the company values at $338, with the drawing one month after the store opens.

The fitness studio is permitted, and its opening is unconfirmed. Barre3 has a Wake Forest studio page on the company’s website, but an opening date, hours and a phone number for the studio could not be confirmed. The chain describes its classes as a mix of strength, cardio and mindfulness and counts more than 200 studios.

The anti-aging clinic is permitted and not yet listed by its parent company. 4Ever Young, which calls itself 4Ever Young Anti Aging Solutions, lists three North Carolina clinics on its website: Apex at 76 Hunter St., Suite 110; North Raleigh at 7431 Six Forks Road; and Charlotte at 7510 Pineville-Matthews Road. Wake Forest does not appear on that list, and the company’s site has no opening date for a Rogers Branch Road clinic.

The wellness center is unconfirmed. The town’s list describes Holistic Vitality Center at 3601 Rogers Branch Road, Suite 103 as a wellness center. A Raleigh chiropractic, acupuncture and functional-medicine practice of the same name lists only one office, at 7101 Creedmoor Road, Suite 102, on its website, and that site makes no mention of Wake Forest. Whether the permit belongs to that practice or to a different business is unconfirmed.

The restaurant is also unconfirmed. Modern Tasty Food at 3604 Rogers Branch Road, Suite 101 appears on the town’s July list as a restaurant. No website, menu, phone number or opening date for the business could be found, and the town’s list gives no further detail.

The traffic alert says the road work is tied to Wheat Field II and does not give a completion date beyond mid-October. The town’s new-business list carries no September entries as of September 22, 2026.
