Best sushi in Wake Forest: nine picks in town and north Raleigh
Sushi is a short list inside Wake Forest. Five places in town cleared the bar for this guide, and two come with a footnote: Thai Cafe on Rogers Road is a Thai kitchen first, and Okome House on Capital Boulevard is all-you-can-eat. Kyoto, the old sushi and hibachi spot on Capital Boulevard, has closed, and Sushi Nami in Rolesville is still listed as coming soon.
So the list widens to north Raleigh. Hayashi and Mizu House sit in Wakefield and Sake House at Falls River, all on the Wake Forest side of I-540, with Sushi Time farther down Falls of Neuse Road. In town, Asuka on South Main Street was the only Wake Forest restaurant on This Is Raleigh's May 2026 list of the best sushi in the Triangle, and TDLLO off Rogers Road pairs ramen with rolls.
Use the bullets for prices and for the call-ahead notes, which matter more here than on most lists.
How we chose
We started inside the Town of Wake Forest and counted places where sushi is central to the menu, open as of October 2026 with a live menu, ordering page or dated review to show it. Only five in town qualified, and Okome House may sit in unincorporated Wake County despite its Wake Forest address. So we added four in north Raleigh: Hayashi, Mizu House and Sake House just past the town line, and Sushi Time about 20 minutes out. Facts come from each restaurant's own site or ordering page, and rankings appear only when named and dated. We left out closed spots, hibachi counters, grocery-store sushi and chains. Entries are listed alphabetically, not ranked. Hours and prices were last checked in October 2026; call about anything marked unconfirmed.
Asuka Asian Bistro & Sushi Bar
On South Main Street south of downtown, Asuka is a Japanese bistro and sushi bar whose own site brands it Asuka Japanese Restaurant. That site leads with the Flaming Volcano, an $18 roll served dine-in only. The roll list runs big and baked: the Baller tops shrimp tempura, crab salad and avocado with seared scallop for $21, and the Mango Bango piles salmon, tuna, yellowtail and avocado over baked eel for $18. Six-piece nigiri flights cost $19 for bluefin tuna and $21 for chef's choice.
Why we chose them

- Its own site says the restaurant is veteran-owned and operated.
- Visit Raleigh says reservations are recommended and the dining room can seat groups of 30 or more.
- It is closed on Mondays, per its own site.

The menu carries about 30 special rolls at $11.50 to $13.50, including a house Wakefield roll, plus a $30 chirashi bowl with 12 pieces of chef's-choice sashimi and a $17 Wolf Bento lunch.

Menu pages name an Oozzy Roll, a Blackjack Roll, a hamachi cheek appetizer and a tempura appetizer, but no prices could be read, so ask when ordering.

The all-you-can-eat price is not published anywhere, so ask before sitting down. It shares a strip with Hibachi Japan.

Thai Cafe
Thai cooking comes first at Thai Cafe on Rogers Road in the Heritage area, though the sushi menu is big enough to earn a place here. Visit Raleigh says the owners, siblings Oddy and Kanchana, base their Thai food on the home cooking of Bangpoo, a village on the Gulf of Thailand.
