Best orthodontists in Wake Forest: 10 practices worth a consult

Wake Forest has five orthodontic practices with a working office inside town limits. Three sit on South Main Street, Gladwell Orthodontics is on Rogers Road in the Heritage area, and MyOrthodontist is on the NC 98 bypass. Several belong to practices with offices across the Triangle, and none of them posts treatment prices.

This list widens to Rolesville and the north Raleigh stretch of Falls of Neuse Road and Raven Ridge Road, then to Knightdale, since Youngsville and Franklinton have no orthodontist with an office of its own. It runs from Gladwell, whose homepage carries a 2026 Invisalign Sapphire Provider badge, to Hamilton Orthodontics, which posted to its blog on September 22, 2026. Our read: the board certification flag on the AAO locator is the most useful filter here, and Joy of Orthodontics has two flagged doctors at its South Main Street office.

How we chose

Practices inside Wake Forest came first, then Rolesville and north Raleigh, about 15 minutes out, then Knightdale and Falls of Neuse Road in 27615, about 20 minutes out, since Youngsville and Franklinton have no orthodontic office. Each pick needed a 2026 signal. Facts come from each practice's own site first; board status comes from those sites or the AAO locator. We did not run state dental board or American Board of Orthodontics lookups. Awards count only when named and dated.

We cut general dentists who do braces, practices with no 2026 signal and practices too far out. Entries are alphabetical, not ranked. None posts treatment prices; financing terms were last checked in October 2026. These picks rest on checkable facts, and we have not hired any of them.

Bumgarner & Martin Orthodontics

By its own account, this South Main Street practice is the oldest operating orthodontic office in Wake Forest, and it says it has served Wake County for "more than 25 years." Two orthodontists run it: Dr. Steve Bumgarner, who earned his DDS magna cum laude at the Baltimore College of Dental Surgery in 1999, and Dr. Jim Martin, who holds an MS and orthodontic certificate from UNC Chapel Hill. The practice is an Invisalign Silver Provider per its site and has a second office in Knightdale.

Why we chose them

  • The AAO locator flags both Dr. Bumgarner and Dr. Martin as certified by the American Board of Orthodontics.
  • Its financial page lists zero-interest in-office financing with no financing fees after a small down payment.
  • A new patient exam is complimentary, per the practice's financial page.
  • BBB lists a local start date of April 2, 1990, and the practice is not BBB accredited.
  • The only 2026 signal is a June 18, 2026 AAO locator date that looks like a directory-wide refresh, so call first.

Address: Wake Forest — 1268 South Main St.

Carolina Orthodontics & Children's Dentistry

Pediatric dentistry and orthodontics share one roof at this Rolesville office in Redford Place, the same building that holds Gladwell's Rolesville office. It is one of eight offices in a practice that reaches from Raleigh and Apex to Fayetteville and Holly Springs. The site names three orthodontists, Dr. Jess Arbon, Dr. Jed Arbon and Dr. Brett Alvey, and all three went to the UNC School of Dentistry. A brochure for cash patients is posted alongside its insurance information.

Why we chose them

  • The practice site calls all three orthodontists board certified but does not name the board.
  • A first consultation is free, per the practice site.
  • It belongs to an eight-office group; a careers link points to a lightwavedental URL, though the site states no owner.
  • MapQuest and Yelp still show a former Heritage Branch Drive address in Wake Forest; the practice site lists Rolesville.
  • Its 2026 signal is a site copyright and a 2026 privacy notice, so call to confirm which orthodontist sees Rolesville patients.

Address: Rolesville — 101 Redford Place Dr., Ste. 100

Gladwell Orthodontics

Dr. Jason Gladwell's practice has served North Carolina "since 2007" and now runs seven offices with eight doctors on staff; this one is on Rogers Road in the Heritage area. Dr. Ben Anders, who went to dental school at UNC and trained in orthodontics at Rutgers, is listed at the Wake Forest office. Office buttons on the practice site show which doctors work at each location, so families can see who they will meet before a consultation request.

Why we chose them

  • The AAO locator lists Dr. Ben Anders at this office and flags him as ABO board certified.
  • Its homepage carries an Invisalign Sapphire Provider badge dated 2026.
  • The financial page lists custom payment plans and an online account for FSA and tax receipts.
  • A local group, it runs seven offices, including Rolesville, North Raleigh, Durham and Zebulon.

Dr. Vinson went to dental school at UNC and trained in orthodontics at Temple University. The practice has a second office in Clayton.

Why we chose them

  • Dr. Gerasco's practice bio states her American Board of Orthodontics certification.
  • A first consultation is complimentary, per the practice site.
  • YellowPages still lists the suite as Vinson Orthodontics, so expect the older name on some directory sites.
  • The 2026 signal is a site copyright and a July 13, 2026 page date, so call before booking.

Keyser Orthodontics

Dr. Mary Morgan Keyser leads this Knightdale practice on Old Knight Road, which says it has served the Triangle for more than 30 years and has a second office on Lake Boone Trail in Raleigh. She studied psychology at UNC-Chapel Hill, where she was Phi Beta Kappa, and trained in orthodontics in Chapel Hill. Patients can choose traditional braces, Invisalign or LightForce braces, and the practice accepts most insurance plans.

Why we chose them

  • Its own site states in-house interest-free financing and personalized payment plans.
  • The site says Dr. Keyser is board certified in orthodontics but does not name the board.
  • Its Instagram handle and a MapQuest listing use the name Buckthal at this address, which suggests a former name.
  • The office is in Knightdale, about 20 minutes from Wake Forest.
  • The 2026 signal is a site copyright and May 2026 page edits, so call or use the online request first.

Dr. Nelson went to dental school at LSU and trained in orthodontics at UNC, per the AAO locator; his site says he taught at the University of Alabama and UNC Chapel Hill dental schools before becoming an orthodontist. Dr. Rachel Lewin is also on staff.

Why we chose them

  • Its own site states interest-free financing for treatment.
  • Families with more than one patient in treatment get multiple-family-member discounts, per the site.
  • The Raven Ridge Road office is in north Raleigh, about 15 minutes from Wake Forest.
  • The Raleigh office is a satellite of the Fayetteville practice, which also has a Raeford office.
  • Only a 2026 site copyright turned up, so call to confirm which days the Raleigh office sees patients.

Raleigh Orthodontics

Dr. Daniel E. Grossman sees patients at this Wakefield office on Falls of Neuse Road in Raleigh, one of four offices the practice runs along with Creedmoor Road in Raleigh, Louisburg and Creedmoor-Butner. He earned his DDS at SUNY Buffalo and trained in orthodontics at Albert Einstein Medical Center, per the AAO locator. Why we chose them

  • Consultations are free, per the practice site and its search description.
  • One phone line covers all four offices, so name the Wakefield office when calling.

Most major credit cards and insurance plans are accepted.

Why we chose them

  • The AAO locator lists Dr. Wells at the Raleigh office; his site and the Wake Forest Chamber list South Main.
  • The practice site has no patient booking form.
