The best electricians in the Raleigh area
The letter in front of an electrical license number is the most useful thing on this page. L is limited, I is intermediate and U is unlimited, and the class caps the value of a single project. For a ceiling fan it makes no difference. For a panel replacement, a service upgrade or a whole-house rewire it matters, and it is worth asking before the quote rather than after.
Every entry below names the license and its class. Four of the twelve hold unlimited licenses, two hold intermediate, and the rest are limited.
We have not hired any of these companies and nobody paid to be listed. Every license, rating and date below was checked against the issuing board or the Better Business Bureau on the date at the foot of this guide. Anything a company claims that we could not verify is described as a claim.
How we chose
Every license was checked at the North Carolina State Board of Examiners of Electrical Contractors, including the public disciplinary file attached to each one. That check removed three companies from consideration, and it surfaced two dismissed cases on a fourth, CMC Electric, which stays on the list with the cases disclosed in its entry so you can look them up yourself.
Also dropped: Raleigh Electric Company, whose operating license carries a June 2025 reprimand and six months' probation; Clear Choice Electric, whose license terminated in 2018; and Right Electrical Services, which holds an active license and an A+ BBB rating and whose website returns an account suspension notice, so we could not confirm it is still in business. Entries are alphabetical and unranked.
AKE Electric
The license does most of the talking here. AKE holds an unlimited classification, the top rung in North Carolina and one only four companies on this list reach, and the board file behind it is clean. Past that, the company keeps quiet: no founding year on the site against eleven years in the BBB file, and no pricing or warranty language anywhere. BBB grades it A+ without accreditation. The office sits in Apex, and weekday hours are the only hours.
Why we chose them
- Holds U.31732, the unlimited classification, so no board cap applies to a single project.
- The license is active through March 2027 with no public matters at the board.
- Hours are weekdays only, 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., with no emergency service published.
- Wake Forest is not named in any published service area.
- The office is in Apex while the license is registered to a Raleigh address.
Address: Apex — 1012 Investment Blvd., Ste. 102 (license registered to a Raleigh address)

Blue Beagle Electric
A one-year labor warranty is rare in this trade, and Blue Beagle publishes one alongside free consultations and a transparent pricing line. Wake Forest sits in the named service area, which not every company here manages. BBB grades it A+, with accreditation granted only in September 2025. The company works weekdays and closes at 4:30, and it publishes no street address at all: neither the site nor the BBB profile carries one.
Why we chose them
- Holds I.27445, the intermediate classification, which caps the value of a single project.
- Warranty runs a year on labor, which most companies in this trade do not publish.
- A whole-house rewire or service upgrade is worth checking against that intermediate cap.
- BBB accreditation was granted in September 2025, so there is little history behind it.
- Hours are weekdays 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with no emergency service published.
Address: Fuquay-Varina — no street address published

Bryant-Durham Services
Sixty-five years in business is the headline, and the record backs it, with a 1960 founding and a 1961 incorporation that the BBB file matches. The company runs electrical, plumbing and heating licenses together, so one company can cross trades on a job. It works in nine states from a Durham base and names Raleigh, Durham and Chapel Hill in its Triangle coverage. BBB grades it A+ with accreditation dating to October 2008.
Why we chose them
- Holds U.06227, the unlimited classification, so no board cap limits a single project's value.
- The license is active through February 2027 with no public matters at the board.
- A Greensboro branch license is active alongside the main electrical license.
- No pricing, warranty or emergency availability is published, so ask before booking.
- Wake Forest is not named in the service area, and the base is Durham.
Address: Durham — 5102 Neal Rd., #100

Clear Light Electric
The board record is clean, and the license behind it is the limited class, which makes Clear Light Electric a repairs-and-circuits company more than a whole-house one. Site and BBB agree on roughly fifteen years of work. Wake Forest is named in the service area alongside Raleigh, Holly Springs and Chapel Hill. Estimates are free, though nothing about how they are written is committed to in print, and BBB grades the company A+ without accreditation.
Why we chose them
- Holds L.29793, the limited classification, which caps the value of a single project.
- The license is active through July 2027 with no public matters at the board.
- No written-estimate, flat-rate or warranty commitment is published, so get the scope in writing.
- Hours are weekdays 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., with no emergency service published.
- The street address on the site differs from the board and BBB records.
Address: Raleigh — 9650 Strickland Rd., Ste. 103-171

CMC Electric
Wake Forest sits inside the published service area at CMC Electric, along with Wendell, Youngsville, Zebulon and Smithfield, and the phone is answered around the clock. Estimates come before the work with no hidden fees, backed by a satisfaction guarantee that carries no stated length. The license number printed on the site matches the board record exactly, which is not a given in this trade. BBB grades it A+, accredited since June 2008.
Why we chose them
- Holds U.26804, the unlimited classification, so no board cap applies to a single project.
- The license is active through August 2027.
- Two board cases, 2022-0268 and 2023-0467, were both dismissed with no sanction imposed.
- The satisfaction guarantee is stated at 100 percent but carries no length, so ask.
- The operating base is Clayton, and the Raleigh address is a mail suite.
Address: Clayton — 128 Airport Industrial Dr. (Raleigh address is a mail suite)

Electric All Pro
Written, flat-rate estimates before any work begins put Electric All Pro ahead of the rest of this trade on pricing, and no hidden fees are attached to them. The company has been working since 2018, a date the site and the BBB file agree on, and it answers emergency calls at any hour. Wake Forest is named in a service area that covers most of this magazine's map. BBB grades it A+ without accreditation.
Why we chose them
- Holds L.32531, the limited classification, which caps the value of a single project.
- The published license number matches the board record exactly, active through July 2027.
- A warranty page exists with no length published, so ask how long coverage runs.
- The service area names Holly Springs, Knightdale, Morrisville, Wendell and Zebulon alongside Raleigh.
Address: Raleigh — 5404 Cumberland Plain Dr.

Mr. Electric of Raleigh
Pricing is the clear part at Mr. Electric of Raleigh: an upfront quote before the job starts, with no hidden or overtime fees, and the Neighborly Done Right Promise behind it. Emergency work is promoted, though no round-the-clock line is published. Everything else is hard to verify, because no BBB profile exists for this franchise and the site gives no founding year, so there is no rating and no start date to compare against.
Why we chose them
- Holds L.21486, the limited classification, which caps the value of a single project.
- The license is active through August 2027 with no public matters at the board.
- The Done Right Promise carries no stated length, so ask what it covers.
- The service area lists Fuquay-Varina, Garner and Knightdale without naming Wake Forest.
- The franchise address and the board's license address are different.
Address: Raleigh — 903½ New Bern Ave.

Quotes come back the same day, itemized, with no hidden fees. The company covers more than sixteen Triangle towns from a Fuquay-Varina base, Wake Forest among them, and it runs emergency response around the clock. BBB grades it A+ without accreditation.
Why we chose them
- Holds U.13673, the unlimited classification, so no board cap limits a single project's value.
- The license is active through November 2026 with no public matters at the board.
- The published license number matches the board record exactly.
- Its own workmanship warranty is not published, only Generac's manufacturer coverage.
- The site implies a founding around 2011 and the BBB file says 1999, so check any anniversary claim.
Address: Fuquay-Varina — 311 Jarco Dr.

Roy Electric
The current license is the unlimited one, and the board file behind it is clean. Look the company up and a terminated limited license appears under the same number, which was simply the older credential it outgrew in 2019. Beyond that the published record thins out fast: no founding year, no pricing, no warranty language, and a service area described only as Cary and its surroundings. BBB grades Roy Electric A+ without accreditation.
Why we chose them
- Holds U.30988, the unlimited classification, so no board cap applies to project value.
- The license is active through June 2027 with no public matters at the board.
- The terminated L.30988 was superseded in 2019, not revoked, which is a meaningful difference.
- The site gives no founding year against eleven years in the BBB file.
- Hours are weekdays 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., with no emergency service published.
Address: Cary — 1249 Kildaire Farm Rd., #106

TLR Electric
Round-the-clock emergency cover is the practical reason to keep TLR Electric's number, and the company has been running for somewhere between eighteen and twenty years by both its own account and the BBB file. It works out of Garner with a second location in Snow Camp. BBB grades it A+ without accreditation. Pricing is described only as reasonable rates, which tells a customer very little before the truck arrives.
Why we chose them
- Holds L.27579, the limited classification, which caps the value of a single project.
- The license is active through January 2027 with no public matters at the board.
- No written estimate or warranty commitment is published anywhere on the site.
- The published service area covers Raleigh, Garner, Hillsborough and Durham without naming Wake Forest.
Address: Garner — 117 Belve Dr.

Wright Brothers Electric Company
Longevity is the story at Wright Brothers Electric, in Raleigh since 1975 by its BBB file and the second oldest electrical contractor on this list. The shop sits inside the beltline, which is unusual for this trade. Almost nothing else is published: no pricing, no warranty, no emergency availability, and no service area detail. This is a company you reach by phone rather than through a website. BBB grades it A+ without accreditation.
Why we chose them
- Holds L.23343, the limited classification, which caps the value of a single project.
- The license is active through February 2027 with no public matters at the board.
- The site advertises more than 35 years of residential experience against a BBB record of 51.
- That understates the company by roughly sixteen years.
- Wake Forest is not named in any published service area.
Address: Raleigh — 711 N. Person St.

This is the Wake Forest entry on the list, and the service area is the most local of the set: Rolesville, Youngsville, Franklinton, Louisburg, Creedmoor and Warrenton all appear alongside Raleigh and Durham. Flat-rate pricing is published, which almost nobody else in this trade does. BBB grades Zar Electric A+ with accreditation dating to April 2012. The legal entity is T-RAZ, trading as Zar Electric.
Why we chose them
- Holds I.27555, the intermediate classification, so a rewire or service upgrade may exceed its project cap.
- The published license number matches the board, active through January 2027 with no public matters.
- The site says 20-plus years while the BBB file dates the company to 1998.
- The board lists a Youngsville post office box as the license address.
- No warranty length and no emergency service are published.
Address: Wake Forest — 1404 Wall Rd., Ste. 100
