Best dog groomers in Wake Forest
Dog grooming in Wake Forest splits into a few storefronts around Heritage and a much larger group of mobile and home-based groomers whose main presence is Facebook or Instagram. That second group is hard to check, since many have no site of their own or nothing dated this year. The storefronts on this list are Dirty Dogs Spa on Heritage Lake Road, the shop that started a small local group in 2012, and Audrey's Barkyard on Heritage Trade Drive, which posts the most complete price list in town. Cobble Hill Bed & Biscuit, a boarding kennel on Chalk Road, handles baths only.
The list widened to Rolesville for AP Grooms and to north Raleigh for Well Groomed Pets. Two entries are mobile services that come to the house; two more are home-based groomers who work by appointment. Use the posted prices to compare, then call, because five of the eight carry a call-ahead note.
How we chose
Each pick needed its own site or booking page with a 2026 signal. Only three had a dated 2026 item; the other five rest on a 2026 footer, page date or live booking form and carry a call-ahead note. Facts come from each business's own site, and awards appear only when named and dated. AP Grooms (Rolesville) and Well Groomed Pets (north Raleigh) are included because the in-town field was thin; Cobble Hill and Grooming By Lacy have Wake Forest mailing addresses we could not place inside town limits.
We left out PetSmart, Petco, the Woof Gang and Woofie's franchises, and groomers with no 2026 signal. Entries are listed alphabetically, not ranked. Prices and hours were last checked in October 2026; call about anything marked unconfirmed.
AP Grooms
Short for Anya's Pawfection Grooms, AP Grooms is founder Anya's one-on-one grooming business, run from her own home in Rolesville and serving Rolesville, Wake Forest and Youngsville. She works on one dog at a time in a home setting aimed at anxious dogs. The posted starting prices are the lowest on this list: a full groom from $55 and a bath and brush from $45.
Why we chose them
- A full groom takes 3.5 to 5.5 hours, so plan on a half-day drop-off.
- A tidy-up mini groom starts at $50 and takes 1 to 2.5 hours.
- Her About page gives her experience as over 8 years in one place and over 10 in another.
- Booking works online through a Book Now page or by phone.
- No dated 2026 post from the groomer itself turned up, so call or check the booking page first.
Address: Rolesville — by appointment

Audrey's Barkyard
Owners Mandy and Josh Donahue, Wake Forest residents who have worked in pet care since 2007, run this grooming, boarding, daycare and training business on Heritage Trade Drive in the Heritage area. Its grooming price list is the most complete posted in town, set by weight and coat type. A bath runs from $55 for dogs under 20 pounds to $105 for dogs of 101 to 124 pounds, and a full groom starts at $80.
Why we chose them
- Every bath includes two shampoos, conditioner, ear cleaning, a nail trim, a blow-out and a bandana.
- Full grooms for doodles, poodles and other long coats run $90 to $220, per its price page.
- The price page and grooming page disagree on a short-coat small-dog full groom ($80 or $90), so confirm when booking.
- A card on file and rabies vaccination are required, and no-shows pay 50 percent of the base service.
- Flea baths are not done here; the shop sends those dogs to a vet.

A full groom is $135 for dogs up to 19 pounds and $225 for dogs of 60 to 70 pounds, and a bath alone starts at $100.
Why we chose them
- Three groomers are named on its site; Jessica reports more than 16 years and a 400-hour New York animal care certificate.
- A blueberry facial, teeth brushing and paw balm come with every bath or groom.
- The posted list tops out at 70 pounds, and matting is billed at $1 to $2 per minute.
- New clients fill in an intake form and can book online through MoeGo.
- The only 2026 signal is a site footer, with no dated 2026 post, so call or check the booking page first.

Cobble Hill Bed & Biscuit
Out on Chalk Road, east of town toward Rolesville, Cobble Hill is a long-running boarding kennel where baths and basic grooming come as part of the kennel's services. Grooming stays at bath level: baths, nail trims, ear cleaning and de-shedding, with no haircuts or breed cuts listed. Its posted bath prices are the cheapest found in the area, from $30 for a dog under 20 pounds, and it bathes cats as well.
Why we chose them
- Nail trims cost $15, ear cleaning $5 and a Furminator de-shed $10, or $20 deluxe.
- Cat baths start at $40 and cat nail trims cost $10, per its grooming page.
- Booking is by phone, followed by a grooming check-in form.
- Payment has been cash or card only since May 6, 2025; the kennel takes no checks.

Dirty Dogs Spa
Founder Vanessa Davis opened this Heritage Lake Road shop on March 1, 2012, and it was the first Dirty Dogs Spa. It runs full-service grooming next to a self-service dog wash, sells all-natural treats, toys and accessories in its boutique, and grooms cats and other small pets along with dogs. The group has since added shops at Stonehenge Market in North Raleigh and in Wendell Falls, which makes it the one small regional chain on this list. No prices are published.
Why we chose them
- A March 2024 Wendell Falls spotlight credits it with Wake Weekly Best of the Best "Best Pet Groomer" wins from 2012 to 2023.
- Self-service washes need no appointment, and grooming books online.
- Staff are trained in Pet First Aid and CPR, per the shop's own site.
- Its site lists 2020 sanitation and infection-control certifications and its own grooming school.
- A Greensboro shop is announced for winter 2027 on the home page, so it is not open yet.
Address: Wake Forest — 929 Heritage Lake Road, Suite 500

Grooming By Lacy
One groomer runs this drop-off salon out of a home with a Wake Forest mailing address, by appointment only. The street is residential, and whether it falls inside town limits is unconfirmed. There is no standalone website; bookings go through a groomer.io request page that takes appointments from 2 to 365 days out, and the written policies are unusually detailed for a home shop.
Why we chose them
- Owners who call within 48 hours get a free touch-up, per its booking page.
- Cash and Zelle carry no fee, while cards add a small fee.
- Drop-off runs in four two-hour windows, and arriving more than 10 minutes late means rescheduling.
- Vaccination records are due before the appointment day, and pets with fleas are sent home.
- No dated 2026 post from the groomer itself turned up, so call or check the booking page first.

Pampered Pups Mobile Grooming
Pampered Pups is a mobile groomer whose own site lists north Raleigh, Wake Forest, Rolesville and Youngsville as its service area; it does not say which town it is based in. The main service is an all-inclusive bath that bundles a facial, teeth brushing, a nail grind, ear cleaning and glands into one posted price, from $120 for a small dog to $200 for a giant breed.
Why we chose them
- A face, feet and fanny trim adds $10, and an all-over haircut adds $20.
- The Mini Makeover is $70, or $40 for each extra pup at the same stop.
- Prices rise $5 per pup every March 1, per its own site.
- Booking is by phone only, since the site has no online booking link.
- No dated 2026 post from the groomer itself turned up, so call before booking.
Address: Wake Forest — mobile, serves the area

Well Groomed Pets-Raleigh
This storefront salon is in north Raleigh, on Raven Ridge Road off Falls of Neuse Road, about 15 minutes from downtown Wake Forest. It handles full grooms with breed-specific or styled trims, bath-and-brush visits, specialty work for long-haired and high-maintenance breeds, and first grooms for puppies. The shop calls itself locally owned and operated, and it has a sister shop in Cary.
Why we chose them
- Its full groom adds an observational wellness check, and the shop says plainly that the check does not replace a vet visit.
- Prices appear only through its online booking site, so check there first.
- It is closed Sunday and Monday, per its own Raleigh page.
- The suite number comes from third-party listings, since the shop's own page shows only a map.
- No dated 2026 post from the salon itself turned up, so call or check the booking page first.
Address: Raleigh — 10930 Raven Ridge Rd. #105
