Village Deli (Village District)
About
Village Deli & Grill opened on Daniels Street in Raleigh’s Village District in 1996, built around a simple idea: hearty, homemade food served in a rustic and cozy room. It has been a lunch habit for the surrounding neighborhood since.
The menu runs to sandwiches, Philly-style plates and burgers, and much of it is put together from scratch behind the counter. Chicken is roasted in house, which shows up across several of the sandwiches on the board. It is a lunch place first, and it has kept the same character for close to thirty years.
What to know
- The Pulled Chicken sandwich comes with smoked gouda, roasted red pepper, spinach and sundried tomato aioli.
- Sandwiches can be ordered on either white or wheat bread.
- The BBQ Chicken Philly is grilled with onions, peppers, barbecue sauce and provolone.
- The Philly Chicken and Cheese swaps in honey mustard alongside the provolone.
- Burgers are hand-pattied in house and made with antibiotic-free beef.
