About
Vault Craft Beer occupies a 1957 building on West South Street, set between the Raleigh Convention Center and the historic Boylan Heights neighborhood. The building was a bank, and enough of that character survives to give the room its name and its feel.
It is a craft beer bar and bottle shop with a community streak, close enough to walk to from the convention center in the area known as Downtown South. Families are genuinely welcome, and the owners are the sort to hand a restless toddler some chalk and building blocks.
What to know
- Architect F. Carter Williams, FAIA, designed the building for the First National Bank.
- The Little Bank occupied the site for more than 60 years.
- Greg Kelly found the building in spring 2016 while seeking a home for modbox USA.
- Restoring the building was meant to keep it a community gathering place for another 60 years.
- Staff will help plan private parties and celebrations in the space.
