Two Roosters Ice Cream opened its New Waverly Place shop in Cary in October 2024, one of several locations around the Triangle. The company itself started in March 2015, founded by NC State alumnus Jared Plummer, and the origin story begins on the porch of a piedmont farmhouse in North Carolina.
The ice cream has done well by local vote: five WRAL Voters’ Choice wins for best local ice cream, plus USA Today 10Best nods in 2019 and 2023. The company’s own line is that ice cream makes a bad day better and a good day great.
