Summit Hospitality Group is a full-service hotel management and consulting firm with offices on John Humphries Wynd in Raleigh. It was founded in Raleigh in 1989 and opened its first property, the Crabtree Summit Hotel, later that same year.
The company builds and operates both hotels and restaurants, and its portfolio now runs to nearly $250 million in assets with more than 700 employees. Current properties include the AC Hotel Raleigh Downtown, the AC Hotel Raleigh Downtown Glenwood, and The Asbury at the Dunhill Hotel in Charlotte.
What to know
- In 1991 the company acquired The Dunhill hotel in Uptown Charlotte with a group of local investors.
- It developed one of the first Hampton Inn & Suites franchises at Landfall Park in Wilmington in 1996.
- That Wilmington hotel ranked number one in the Hilton and Hampton Inn system in 1999.
- It was presented with the Inn of the Year Award in 2001.
- The 11-story Residence Inn in Uptown Charlotte won Marriott’s Construction Excellence Award.
