Sosta Cafe
About
Sosta Cafe has been on East Davie Street in downtown Raleigh since 2006, a small cafe with a French streak to it. Fresh coffee, handcrafted sandwiches, and salads make up most of an order, and breakfast and lunch are both served.
Jerome Lauck, the French owner who started it, made personal customer service the point, and the cafe built a following among downtown workers and visitors as a result. It is the kind of local spot people pass along by word of mouth. Downtown regulars have kept it going for years.
What to know
- Locals and visitors have long described the cafe as a hidden gem.
- One vegan sandwich on the menu is called This Little Piggy.
- A soy-based chicken salad is served with lettuce, tomatoes, and arugula on multigrain bread.
- The cafe’s own site looks back on 18 years as a cherished downtown spot.
