Saltgrass Steak House

Saltgrass Steak House on Knightdale Boulevard is part of the original Texas steakhouse chain, and its cooking is built around the flavor of an open campfire. Steaks, chicken and seafood come off the chargrill, and the beef is Certified Angus.

The name comes from the Salt Grass Trail, the route Texas cattle drivers once followed to market, and the kitchen keeps that story on the menu. Breads, soups, dressings and desserts are made from scratch every day. Pickup, delivery and catering for events are all available.

• The Signature Steak and Shrimp pairs center-cut top sirloin with grilled or fried shrimp.
• Country Fried Steak comes as Certified Angus Beef under cream gravy.
• Range Rattlers are jumbo fried jalapenos stuffed with whole shrimp and Jack cheese.
• The Beer Bread and the Two-Fork Cheese Cake are both made in house.
• Four riders revived the historic trail ride in 1952 to publicize the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo.
