Rise Southern Biscuits & Righteous Chicken has a Village District shop on East Daniels Street in Raleigh. The biscuits are made from scratch and filled with combinations that run from crispy bacon and country sausage to fried green tomatoes, and breakfast and lunch both come off the same counter.
Righteous Chicken, the buttermilk-brined fried chicken, turns up in several of them and in the sandwiches. The first Rise opened in Durham in 2012, and the aim then was the same as now: good ingredients, handled by people who care about them.
