Raleigh Rescue Mission
About
Raleigh Rescue Mission works with homeless men, women, and children in the city, ministering to physical, emotional, and spiritual needs. Its campus on East Hargett Street downtown serves men.
A second campus, The Garden, is for women and children. The aim at both is a lasting change in someone’s situation, and the program the mission runs toward that is called the New Life Plan. The people it describes on its site are the people it serves, and their stories are the case it makes for the work.
What to know
- The mission logged 1,541 inquiries for assistance.
- Last year 273 adults enrolled in its New Life Plan.
- Another 122 children were enrolled in the plan over the same year.
- Published client stories include Ailsa, who carried childhood trauma into adulthood.
