Peggy Rose’s Sweet Pepper Jelly

About

Peggy Rose has been making sweet pepper jelly and mustard for decades, and the business is still family owned and woman founded. It runs out of Raleigh, and the jars turn up in grocery stores, gift shops and gift basket companies.

The jellies have twice been named NCSFA grand champion in artisan jellies, condiments and butters. If you want to taste before you buy, the company sets up at markets and stores around the state through the year, and someone is usually on hand to talk recipes.

What to know

  • Whole Foods stores across the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic carry the jars.
  • Tasting events run at Lowes Foods community tables in North Carolina stores.
  • The Midtown Farmers’ Market at North Hills is a regular winter stop.
  • Chef Jeff runs samples and seasonal recipes at Bayleaf Market in North Raleigh.
  • Chef’s on Duty events pair cooking demonstrations with serving suggestions.
