Packapalooza
About
Packapalooza is NC State’s all-day block party and street festival along Hillsborough Street, and it closes out Wolfpack Welcome Week every August. Hillsborough Street runs right along the edge of campus, which is what makes the format work. The street fills with music, vendors, and community activities for students and neighbors alike.
The 2026 edition ran on Saturday, August 22, a late summer afternoon that carried on into the evening. For the campus and the blocks around it, the festival marks the start of the school year.
What to know
- Vendor and sponsor registration is handled in advance and has closed for 2026.
- A mobile guide and a desktop guide are published for visitors.
- NC State calls it the university’s signature block party.
- The festival returns each year on a Saturday in late August.
