Olivia Raney Local History Library
About
Olivia Raney Local History Library is a Wake County Public Libraries location on Carya Drive in Raleigh, given over to local history and genealogy. The research room holds microfilm, newsletters, property tax records, city directories, biographies, and military records for people tracing a family or a place.
The building itself is part of the experience. Portraits and photographs honoring Olivia Raney and her family hang in the lobby gallery, and furniture and artifacts from the original facility turn up throughout the library. Visitors can also view photographs drawn from the archival collections.
