Midtown Olive Oil sells olive oils, balsamic vinegars and gourmet foods from its Raleigh shop at Creedmoor Crossings. You taste before you buy, and whatever you pick is poured, corked and sealed while you watch. The company also has stores in Greensboro and New Bern.
The shelves go well past oil and vinegar. Specialty foods fill out the store, some of them made in North Carolina and others hard to find anywhere nearby. Being able to taste first makes it an easy place to shop for someone else.
