Martin Marietta Center for the Performing Arts
About
The Martin Marietta Center for the Performing Arts is the main arts venue in downtown Raleigh, on East South Street. Four halls under one roof carry ballet, opera, symphony concerts, comedy and theater through the year.
Those halls include Raleigh Memorial Auditorium, Meymandi Concert Hall and the Fletcher Opera Theater, so an evening here might be a full orchestra or a stand-up set. The center also runs programming outside the usual bill, including theater haunts and building history tours. The schedule is dense enough that most weekends have something on.
What to know
- The North Carolina Symphony performs regular programs at Meymandi Concert Hall.
- The theater haunts and history tours run at Raleigh Memorial Auditorium in fall 2026.
- Comedy tours and author talks appear alongside the classical programming.
- One fall 2026 event pairs a conversation with John Cusack and a screening of Say Anything.
- Recent symphony programs have included Rachmaninoff and the music of Pink Floyd.
