Mark Twain Speaks

Mark Twain Speaks is a one-man show performed by Don McNeill, who plays Twain for audiences and events around Raleigh. He is a Twain scholar as well as a storyteller and performer. There is no storefront to visit; the show comes to you.

McNeill studied Twain as a student at the University of Missouri-St. Louis, where classes often argued over whether Twain would still land with a modern audience the way he did when he spoke in the 19th century. The show grew out of that question.

What to know

• The full title of the show is Mark Twain Speaks… Again.
