Makus Empanadas is a counter inside Morgan Street Food Hall in downtown Raleigh. The empanadas are Argentinian and always baked, never fried, and the menu also runs to tequeños and family-sized meals. Gluten-free empanadas are on the menu too.
The business came from three friends who grew up together in Argentina, inseparable since preschool and later exploring Buenos Aires together. Their names are Hernan, Santiago and Ricky. The name is a small joke on the job: say Makus Empanadas out loud and it sounds like make us empanadas.
