Kumbala Sports Bar & Grill

Kumbala is a Caribbean and Latino restaurant and bar on New Bern Avenue in Raleigh. The kitchen works across Dominican, Cuban, Puerto Rican, Mexican, Colombian, and Venezuelan cooking, so a table can order in several directions at once.

The Mexican side of the menu is worth a look. Birria tacos come with consomé for dipping, and al pastor tacos are made with marinated pork. Both arrive with onion, cilantro, and fresh limes, plus sliced radish, cucumber, grilled onions, a fried jalapeño, and homemade salsas.
