Jones Auditorium at Meredith College
About
Jones Auditorium is a performance hall at Meredith College on Hillsborough Street in Raleigh, used for concerts, lectures, panels and community events. Meredith is a nationally ranked women’s college, and much of what happens in the hall is open to people from outside the campus.
A good share of the calendar is student and faculty work. The Meredith Philharmonic plays a fall concert every year, and the student-led Jazz and Tap Company puts on a program of contemporary, jazz and tap pieces. Visiting speakers and author talks fill in the rest.
What to know
- Ticket prices for events run from about five dollars up to one hundred.
- Meredith students attend some events free, and other students and faculty pay reduced rates.
- Group passes are sold for parties of ten or more.
- The college’s summer reading program has brought alumnae panel discussions to the hall.
- Best-selling author Richard Osman has been among the guest speakers booked there.
