Homewood Nursery & Garden Center has been rooted in Raleigh since 1967 and is still family owned. It sits on Honeycutt Road with more than four acres of greenhouses, a garden center and a park-like outdoor nursery. Indoor and outdoor plants, shrubs, trees, perennials, supplies, gifts and pottery are all stocked.
The story starts in a backyard on Six Forks Road, where founder Bill Stoffregen put up his first greenhouse. He told the family to keep it pretty as the business grew, because the site was still his home. That instruction seems to have stuck.
