GiGi’s Playhouse – Down Syndrome Achievement Center

About

GiGi’s Playhouse Raleigh is a Down syndrome achievement center on South Walker Street in Cary, and everything it offers is free. Programs are therapeutic, educational and research-driven, and they are open to people of all ages with Down syndrome.

Families reach out, take a tour and get registered, which is how most people start. The organization calls the building its forever home, the realization of a vision it held for years. It also hosts an annual gala, GiGi’s in Lights, I Have a Voice, and it is worth a look for any family seeking support locally.

What to know

  • The annual GiGi’s in Lights gala is held at The Pavilion at the Angus Barn.
  • The center supports families alongside the individuals in its programs.
  • New families are given a tour of the center before they register.
  • The Raleigh location opened in February 2023.
