The Flying Biscuit Cafe in Chapel Hill sits at University Place on South Estes Drive and serves breakfast, brunch and lunch all day. The menu leans Southern, with biscuits, grits, shrimp and grits and chicken and waffles, plus vegetarian and vegan choices.
Tahir and Zinnia Rafiq opened the cafe in 2022, and it was their first Flying Biscuit franchise. Tahir Rafiq spent 15 years in hospitality, including a stint as vice president of operations at IHOP. He now also runs cafes in Cary and Wake Forest and plans a fourth in north Raleigh.
