Duck Donuts – Raleigh Lake Boone

This Duck Donuts is on Wycliff Road near Lake Boone in west Raleigh. Donuts are made after you order, and you choose the coating and the toppings, so the thing you walk out with is yours. They come out warm.

The company began in Duck, a town on the Outer Banks, where founder Russ DiGilio’s family spent their vacations. They wanted a donut shop there and opened the first one in 2007. It is a family story the company still tells, and the rest of the shops, this one included, came afterward.
