Cary Visual Art, Inc.

Cary Visual Art is a nonprofit that works to put public art where people in Cary will run into it. Its stated job is to promote, inspire and support public art for the community, under the motto Inspiring Art Everywhere.

Since it was founded, the group has worked on both halves of that: getting pieces installed around town, and backing the local artists who make them. There is no gallery to visit, since the address is a post office box and the work itself sits out in public.

What to know

• Public art around Cary is mapped on Otocast, a guided audio tour platform.
• The tour includes commentary recorded by the artists themselves.
• Otocast also carries tours of historic sites, architecture and nature trails.
• The organization lists ways for residents to get involved and volunteer.
