Captain Stanley’s Seafood
About
Captain Stanley’s is a family owned and operated Calabash-style seafood restaurant on South Wilmington Street in south Raleigh, described that way in Visit Raleigh’s own listing. A second location on Falls of Neuse Road is closed; this is the one that operates.
Calabash fried plates are the backbone, with grilled salmon, oysters, scallops, fried tilapia, calamari, crab cakes, boiled shrimp and hushpuppies alongside. Sides run to lima beans, okra, green beans and onion rings, and there is clam chowder and Brunswick stew. It takes reservations and can seat parties of thirty or more, which is uncommon for the category.
