Capri Flavors
About
Capri Flavors is Cary’s Italian market, on Bass Pro Lane, stocked with specialties imported from Italy. The counter turns out panini on semolina bread or homemade focaccia, which is reason enough to stop in at lunch. It is a small shop with a long history behind it.
Costanzo and Titina Vuotto started the shop 24 years ago and moved it to this Cary location in 2017. Chef Anthony Misso owns it now, and he keeps up a store tradition that has run in the Triangle area for more than thirty years.
What to know
- Handmade pastas and Anthony’s pesto are among the things worth carrying home.
- Anthony Misso has cooked since he was young and takes pride in the quality of what he stocks.
- Costanzo’s father, Raffaele, ran a coffee shop in the Piazzetta of Capri in the 1930s.
- He was the first there to offer outdoor seating, a habit that spread to Rome, Venice, and Florence.
