Botiwalla by Chai Pani is an Indian street-food restaurant at Raleigh Iron Works, off Atlantic Avenue east of downtown Raleigh. It is the Raleigh outpost of the Chai Pani Restaurant Group of Asheville, whose founder is Meherwan Irani.
The menu is modeled on India’s Irani cafés and charcoal street grills. Orders go in at the counter: chicken tikka and malai chicken rolls, aloo tikki chaat, vada pav, paneer tikka skewers and rice bowls. The Asheville flagship, Chai Pani, won the James Beard Foundation’s Outstanding Restaurant award in 2022. Uber Eats tags the Raleigh store vegetarian-friendly.
