Blanchard, Miller, Lewis & Isley is a Raleigh law firm on Hillsborough Street, formed on April 3, 1995. The motto is plain enough: We Solve Problems. The firm was built on the conviction that clients deserve excellent representation inside the courtroom and out.

Charles Blanchard had already spent more than four decades as one of North Carolina’s most respected trial lawyers when he joined Philip Miller to start the practice. He stayed with the firm right up until his death in 2021, at the age of 97.

What to know

• The firm opened as Blanchard, Jenkins & Miller, P.A.
• Hardy Lewis joined in 1999, leaving a partnership at another Raleigh firm.
• The name changed to Blanchard, Jenkins, Miller & Lewis after that addition.
• Philip Isley became a partner in 2010.
• Isley served four terms on the Raleigh City Council, from 2001 to 2009.
