Bellow Butcher Co.

Bellow Butcher Co. is a family-run butcher shop and sandwich counter on North Main Street in downtown Wendell. Husband and wife Chris and Lauren Gass opened it in October 2025. The couple met in a butcher shop and worked in restaurants in Wilmington and Nashville before starting a business of their own.

The meat case holds prime and dry-aged beef, Japanese and Australian wagyu, pork chops, chicken and duck breast, along with sausages and burgers made in house. The counter makes deli sandwiches and charcuterie plates, with featured sandwiches that change each month, and the shelves carry pantry goods.
