Bella Monica Cucina & Vino is a neighborhood trattoria on Edwards Mill Road, in Olde Raleigh Village. Corbett and Julie Monica have run it as a family business since the doors opened in 2000.
The idea behind the place is that it works like an extension of Nana’s table. People come in for lasagne, spaghetti and meatballs, or pizza, and settle in at the wine bar afterward. It has been voted the best Italian restaurant in Raleigh. The phrase the family uses for all of it is La Dolce Vita.
