The American Red Cross Greater Triangle Area Chapter covers ten counties from its Raleigh office on North Peartree Lane: Wake, Durham, Orange, Johnston, Chatham, Franklin, Granville, Person, Vance, and Warren.

The chapter handles the familiar Red Cross work: disaster relief after a house fire or a storm, blood collection, and preparedness training so households know what to do before something goes wrong. The national organization also raises money for major disasters elsewhere in the country, and local chapters point people toward those appeals and toward the volunteers who staff them.
