Altered State Brewing Company is a craft brewery on Garvey Drive in northeast Raleigh. The tap list changes constantly: hoppy and hazy IPAs, heavily fruited sours, thick stouts, clean lagers, and whatever the brewers decide to make next.
The taproom is set up for hanging around. There is a patio with plenty of outdoor seating, umbrellas for the sun, and fire pits for cooler evenings. Children and dogs are both welcome, which makes it an easy place to land with a group that is not all drinking beer.
What to know
- Non-alcoholic drinks are stocked, and water bowls are kept for dogs.
- Outside food is welcome, including deliveries brought to the brewery.
- Cafe Capistrano next door serves modern Mexican food you can carry over.
- The current tap list is posted online, and beer can be ordered online too.
