Stanley Cup visits Rolesville and Wake Forest on October 2
The Stanley Cup is coming to Rolesville and Wake Forest on Friday, October 2, 2026. The trophy stops at the Rolesville Community Center on Southtown Circle from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., then moves to Wake Forest for a visit from 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. at a site the town had not announced as of September 28, 2026.
Both stops are photo sessions with the Cup. Rolesville’s notice lists no registration or lottery. Wake Forest is giving out 80 photo slots by lottery, and registration for that lottery closes Monday, September 28, 2026.
The Carolina Hurricanes are partnering with the town to bring the Cup to Wake Forest, according to a Town of Wake Forest announcement posted September 24, 2026. NHL “Cup Keepers” deliver the trophy, and the town says no Hurricanes players will attend. The Hurricanes beat the Vegas Golden Knights 3-0 in Game 6 of the Stanley Cup Final for the franchise’s first NHL title in 20 years, WRAL reported on June 24, 2026.
The October 2 schedule in both towns
The two visits fall 90 minutes apart on the same day:
- The Rolesville visit runs from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Rolesville Community Center, 514 Southtown Circle.
- The Wake Forest visit runs from 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. at a Wake Forest location the town lists as to be announced.
Rolesville: doors open at 10 a.m. at the community center
According to the Town of Rolesville, doors to the community center open at 10 a.m. and staff will be on site to guide everyone through the line. Photos wrap up at 11 a.m., when the Cup Keepers take the Stanley Cup to its next stop.
The town encourages group photos with friends, family, teammates or neighbors, which it says keeps the line moving. Staff will take each photo on the visitor’s own phone, so the town asks people to have the phone unlocked and ready when they reach the front of the line.
The town set these parking rules for the visit:
- Visitors should park in front of Town Hall or in other town lots, including Redford Place Park and Main Street Park.
- Overflow parking will be available at Thales Academy.
- Parking along curbs or on the grass is not permitted.
- The town recommends carpooling.
Wake Forest: how the photo lottery works
The Wake Forest visit lasts 90 minutes. The town says it chose a lottery because of that tight window, and town officials want “to give as many local Canes fans as possible” a chance at a picture with the Cup.
The lottery runs on this schedule, according to the town’s Stanley Cup visit event page:
- Registration is online only, through the form linked on the event page, and closes Monday, September 28, 2026.
- Each entry lists the registrant’s name, contact information, group size and the names of the people in the group.
- The town allows one entry per person or group, and a group can include up to 10 people.
- Town officials draw 80 entries on the morning of Tuesday, September 29, 2026.
- Winners are notified by email before 5 p.m. on September 29 and receive an admission ticket and event details.
The town encourages teams of 5 to 10 family members, friends or neighbors to enter together, since each of the 80 slots is a separate photo opportunity.
The event page says “Lottery winners are not guaranteed a photo opportunity.” Town staff will manage the photo process and try to reach all 80 winners, but the Cup Keepers enforce a strict time limit and delays are possible, so the town says it cannot guarantee a photo for every winning individual or group.
