Shinmai Shokudo

Shinmai Shokudo is a Japanese comfort food restaurant on Northwest Maynard Road in Cary. It was the first restaurant from the Shinmai group, whose owners later opened Shinmai Kumo in Cary and Shinmai Moku in north Raleigh. The group describes it as a gathering place for comforting dishes, each with its own touch.

Tonkotsu ramen made with a slow-cooked broth is the signature dish. The rest of the menu leans on noodles, rice and dumplings, the everyday food of a Japanese shokudo, or casual dining hall.
