The best lawn care companies in the Raleigh area
This is a shorter list than the others, and the reason is worth stating. North Carolina licenses individual pesticide applicators, not lawn care companies, so there is no company-level record to look up, and not one local firm publishes an applicator number on its website. Strip out the license check and what is left to verify is thin.
Seven companies below publish enough for a reader to compare them. Several others that would otherwise qualify publish no website, no address or no phone number of their own, so we left them out. Padding a best-of list helps nobody.
We have not hired any of these companies and nobody paid to be listed. Every license, rating and date below was checked against the issuing board or the Better Business Bureau on the date at the foot of this guide. Anything a company claims that we could not verify is described as a claim.
How we chose
Every company here has a working website of its own and a checkable BBB record, and none has an unanswered complaint. We looked for four things: who does the work, what the guarantee actually says, whether the company mows or only treats, and whether Wake Forest is inside the published service area. Two of the seven name Wake Forest.
Read the age claims carefully. Franchise pages routinely advertise the national brand's age where the local unit is far newer, and two of these do exactly that. Where a site's figure and its BBB start date disagree, the entry says so. If you want to check an applicator's license, the NCDA&CS credential search is free and public. Entries are alphabetical and unranked.
Augusta Lawn Care of NW Raleigh
Published prices are almost unheard of in lawn care, and this is the one company here that posts them: mowing runs roughly $50 to $170 depending on the size of the yard. It also does both sides of the work, cutting and treating, where most of this list picks one. The BBB file dates the operation to 2022 and lists it as Not Rated for insufficient information, with no letter grade attached.
Why we chose them
- No pesticide applicator license number is published anywhere on the site.
- No guarantee and no re-treat policy are published, so ask before signing.
- No street address is published for the business.
- The published service area is northwest Raleigh, Leesville, Glenwood and Oak Park, without Wake Forest.
- Crews are uniformed and vehicles are marked, according to the company.
Address: Raleigh — northwest Raleigh, no street address published

Canopy Lawn Care
Wake Forest appears by name in the service area here, which sets Canopy Lawn Care apart from most of this list, and a quote comes back online without waiting for a site visit. The program leans environmental, with organic components that include coffee grounds in the mix. The work is treatment only, so the mowing stays with you or with someone else. Verifying any of it independently is the hard part.
Why we chose them
- No BBB profile could be located, so there is no rating, complaint history or start date.
- The site publishes no founding year and no street address.
- No pesticide applicator license number is published, so ask for it before a season.
- No guarantee or re-treat policy is published either.
Address: Raleigh — 27605, no street address published

Fairway Green
About 37 years in, Fairway Green is the longest-running lawn company on this list, and it is Raleigh-based rather than a franchise, working just two North Carolina markets. Organic programs sit alongside the conventional ones, which few competitors here offer. The work is treatment only, so you will still need someone to cut the grass. BBB grades it A+ without accreditation, and estimates cost nothing.
Why we chose them
- No pesticide applicator license number is published, and neither is pricing.
- The street number on the site and the one on the BBB record disagree.
- The two published phone numbers also disagree, so confirm details on the call.
- No guarantee or re-treat policy is published.
- Wake Forest is not named in the published service area.
Address: Raleigh — 120 Rupert Rd. (BBB records 140 Rupert Rd.)

Lawn Doctor of North Raleigh
Read the guarantee here closely: if the results disappoint, Lawn Doctor of North Raleigh comes back at no charge or refunds the full cost of the last application. Almost nothing else on this list commits to a refund. Wake Forest is named in the service area, and the work covers treatment plus aeration and seeding with no mowing. BBB grades it A+ without accreditation, and estimates are free.
Why we chose them
- No pesticide applicator license number is published, and neither is pricing.
- The site advertises more than 56 years, which is the national brand's age.
- The BBB file dates this local operation to December 2015, about ten years.
- The local business trades as Oak City Agronomy.
Address: Raleigh — 2105 Lovdal Dr.

Lawn Pride of North Raleigh
Neighborly is the brand behind Lawn Pride of North Raleigh, and the local page carries the Done Right Promise without stating what its terms actually are, so ask what it covers before a season starts. Technicians are described as certified lawn care professionals, and estimates are free. The work is treatment only, covering Cary, north Raleigh and Raleigh proper. BBB grades it A+ without accreditation.
Why we chose them
- No pricing, re-treat policy or pesticide applicator license number is published.
- The site's claim of more than 20 years of experience belongs to the brand.
- The BBB file dates this location to November 2023, not to the brand's founding.
- The two published phone numbers disagree between the site and the BBB record.
- Wake Forest is not named in the published service area.
Address: Raleigh — 510 Pylon Dr.

Wake Pro Lawn Care
Mowing is the gap in most of this list, and Wake Pro Lawn Care fills it. Nearly everyone else here does chemical treatment and leaves the cutting to you; this Raleigh independent actually mows, and it does not advertise chemical applications at all. That makes it a pairing with one of the treatment companies rather than a swap for one. BBB grades it A+ without accreditation, on a file opened in October 2015.
Why we chose them
- The website publishes neither an address nor a phone number; both come from BBB.
- The guarantee is soft wording with no stated terms.
- The service area is described as Raleigh and Cary, without naming Wake Forest.
Address: Raleigh — 113 Seawell Ave.

Weed Man Raleigh
A written re-treat policy is the reason Weed Man Raleigh is here: free return visits between scheduled applications when results are not holding, with the terms actually written down. An online estimator gives a number without a phone call. The work is treatment only, with no mowing. BBB grades it A+ without accreditation, and the location is part of the national Weed Man franchise network.
Why we chose them
- No pricing, organic program or pesticide applicator license number is published.
- Neither the site nor the BBB file gives a start date for this location.
- Wake Forest is not named in the published service area.
Address: Raleigh — 6001 Resco Ct.
