KOKORO is a ramen shop and izakaya in City Market, facing Moore Square in downtown Raleigh. It opened in July 2026 in the former Royale space, which had stood empty for six years. Owner Neti Promkhotwong also runs Neko Thai & Sushi Bar in Pinehurst.
The News & Observer reports that the broth simmers for at least ten hours and that the opening staff trained at a ramen school in Kansas City. Bowls run pork tonkotsu, spicy tonkotsu, fermented-garlic tonkotsu, spicy chicken, spicy shrimp tempura and shoyu, with a vegan bowl of fried tofu, mushrooms, sprouts and corn. A Thai street-food menu runs alongside.
